We had a nice drive down to Tomakin (it took about 4 1/2 hours, with one stop for lunch ... here in Australia you can get fresh sandwiches and connect to the internet at McDonalds!)

Once we arrived and checked in, we took a short trip to shop for groceries.  Here are some pictures of the place where we're staying while we're here.

We got up after sleeping in and went for a nice drive along the coast towards Bateman's Bay, to the north.  Our first stop was Burrawarra Point and its Natural Refuge Park.  We walked for about 1 1/2 hours through the park, seeing a couple of other people and lots of birds.

The trails need some maintenance as there were several places where we had to climb over / under / around trees.  After climbing around for a bit we headed on to Bateman's Bay to look for a place for lunch.
We spoke with the tourist information people and got recommendations to several places.  We selected the one that did seafood.  We got an outside table and soon had enough company to hold a Pelican meeting :-).  Of course, some of them got bored and decided to go to sleep and one of them looked like he'd been at a meeting forever ... or at least older than dirt!
After lunch, we decided to do one of the typical things that people do when going on vacation.  A round of golf!  Kathy came in 1 under par and Robert 3 over par despite his best efforts!  We think we might have a rematch in Sunnyvale next week :-).  Maybe we'll have nephews with us.
Our last stop before we headed back to The Moorings was one of the beaches where Robert decided to get his feet wet.  The water temperature felt like it was in the 60's.

After a nice dinner of lamb, vegetables, and rolls, Robert went off to play bingo while Kathy did some work.  The bingo game was Australian Bingo, which is quite different from the Bingo that we see in the states.  Robert ended up winning a single chocolate!  Tomorrow morning we're heading to one of the national parks.

We headed off to the Monga National Forest, about 40km away, for some nice walks through a primaeval forest, hoping to see kangaroos and dinosaurs (ok, maybe not dinosaurs but the forest certainly fits!).

We had some difficulty with our maps and made several u-turns on the road to the park but we finally got there.  Here are some pictures from our walk through the forest.
Editor's Note:  Kathy and Robert leave around midnight tonight for a drive to the Sydney airport.
