Paul, the apostle has proclaimed in his gospel, that we are sons and daughters of God. The statement “of God” is extremely important because otherwise we would
only be sons and daughters of just mere humans. So, if you are a son or daughter
of God, you know what it is to be adopted and the cost of your adoption.
Christ was begotten by God. God's
only begotten Son, which is plainly stated and referenced so many times. Jesus
is the only begotten Son of God. All power and authority in heaven and on earth
has been placed under His control. His glory and honor is forever established
along with the Kingdom of Heaven, which we may be included among as heirs, adopted sons and daughters of God.
“but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we
wait eagerly for our adoptions as sons, the redemption of our bodies." - Romans 8:23
If you’re going to God, through Christ, your going through the best adoption agency known
to man for He is the only way, the truth, and the light. We can only approach
God through Christ for our eternal adoption. Through blood (just like the blood
which goes through your veins and connects you to your earthly parents) so is the reality that Christ’s blood has saved
you. It assures your lawful adoption into Heaven.
Though our sin separated us from God, he created the perfect plan for our adoption. How is our adoption finalized? When we confess with our mouths
that Jesus is the Son of God, we believe and are baptized. In this, we are born
as a new creation, sinless and acceptable to God. What a way to restore our relationship! This relationship, once fulfilled is an eternal contract.
We have an inheritance of adoption, like no other. What
a blessing!
Likewise, God has blessed us with another inheritance of adoption…not so life altering
or even comparable to our adoption as sons and daughters of God. God has blessed
us here, in this physical world, with those who have gone before us in the physical act of adopting the forgotten children
around the world. Through this act, these wonderful Christian examples, have
shown us just a smidgen of what God did for us.
The
following are stories. Stories like some you may have heard while growing up. Stories, from fellow Christians, that have blazed a trail of adoption that it is our
honor to follow. Here are some of those stories.
