Welcome!
AACBP stands for American Artists of Chinese Brush Painting. It is a non-profit
organization, founded in 1981 to help popularize and facilitate the study of
Chinese Brush painting among the American public. AACBP continues today to
encourage interest in Chinese Brush painting, to enrich knowledge of its
members and the public in this art, and to promote cultural understanding.
The AACBP has sponsored official trips to Taiwan
over the years and exhibited in Taipei,
Taiwan. Many
of its members have formed painting groups, which traveled to China
for study as well. Membership throughout the United States reached over 400
during one period. One major association exhibition per year has been held
since 1981, in various sites including Exposition
Park in Los Angeles, hotels, libraries etc.
The AACBP has founded seven chapters here in the United States. Primary activities
of the chapters have included holding workshops as well as sponsoring
exhibits. The next annual show will be at the Huntington Beach Central
Library all during November 2007. Many Chinese Brush painters from Asia as
well as different areas here in the United States have taught in
these workshops and classes. National dues are $10 and include a monthly
newsletter on galleries/ events/ web and opportunity to enter the show.
