SHIP
MODELING by GENE LARSON - Shop Notes and Tips - Models |

Some of the following hints and tips for ship modelers, and other modelers as applicable, were removed from the Nautical Research Guild's website by me due to their age and in my opinion no longer rising to the quality I believe is necessary for the NRG web site. These shop notes were written
by me in the 1990s and only a few were subsequently updated. None were
properly edited so you are subject to the writings of a lifelong Air Force
engineer and program manager. I placed the articles on the NRG web site
during my fourteen year tenure as Chairman of the Board of Directors, and
initial webmaster (for 8 years). The purpose was to encourage all NRG members
and visitors to the website to contribute their own modeling tips. I have placed the shop notes
here for model builders to reference with the realization that there have
been improvements in techniques and many references are no longer valid. This
is like browsing in a stack of magazine back issues. As time permits the
articles will be updated. In addition to the
"old" shop notes, I have developed some new tips which may be of
interest to model builders. Please look through them. NOTE: While you are web browsing please
visit the Washington Ship Model Society's website.
