Note:

The left hand column is the direct ratio for English or metric.
For example:
1/48 is 1"=48", or 1'=48', or 1yd=48yd
1mm=48mm, or 1cm=48cm, or 1m=48m, etc

The typical math is:
1/48: 1" = 48" = 48/12' = 4' or 1/4" = 1'

The formula for converting rope circumference to scale diameter:
C/3.1416 x scale multiplier
For
1:48: Dia.(scale) = c/3.1416 x (1/48) = c x .00663

.00663 is the scale multiplier factor.
