Our Church’s Ministry

The ministry of Elm Street Congregational Church begins with worship. It is the heart of all we do. We worship God at 10:00 a.m. every Sunday morning, and hold special worship services at other times during the Christian year. Music plays an important role in the worship we offer to the Lord. We are blessed with two choirs, an adult voice choir and a hand bell choir. We plan to add a children’s choir this fall. The ESCC Players, our drama ministry, adds depth to our worship through occasional short plays. We also offer Sunday School every Sunday morning during the school year, with classes for children from the pre-school level to senior high. The church supports two youth groups, one for junior highs and one for senior highs, which meet on Sunday evenings. For adult education we offer three different Bible studies, which meet at separate times during the week. The church reaches out to people beyond its walls in various ways. For example, we host community suppers in our Fellowship Hall once a month. We belong to the Southbridge Interfaith Hospitality Network, a group of churches that provides shelter for homeless families. We recently joined the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, which provides emergency food for hungry individuals and families. And we are part of Christian Medical Services, which provides free medical care to people who do not have health insurance.

Come and join us as we seek the Face of God with joyful voices and prayerful hearts!
