1. Program Description: The Emergency Dental Program is designed to authorize payment to collaborating dentists
for Family Service Clients (men, women and children), experiencing a dental crisis. Emergency assistance will provide immediate
results in the status of the clients’ dental health. 1.
Program Goals: Ø To assist people without dental or health insurance to resolve a severe dental issue. 2.
Guidelines: Qualify If: Ø Clients must meet income criteria, low-income households below the 185% of federal and state guidelines. Ø Experiencing a temporary income hardship (e.g. loss of employment) Ø Does not benefit from Medicaid/dental insurance plan. Ø Elderly individuals living on a low Social Security retirement insurance benefit without
Medicaid/dental insurance plan. Ø Individuals who receive Social Security Disability without a dental insurance plan.
Household composition plus income minus expenses to prove need is documented.
