Ambient Radioactivity 2006 Graphs
- . Dec 10 - 17 2006 tests (flat spots due to transparent plastic covering to exclude Rn but admit light to assist determination of whether high values were due to light leakage during day or di dirunal Rn. "Decay" tail after plastic covering applied remained troublesome. Concluded high peaks were real.
- December 2006 (high values starting about Dec 10 were caused by moving the detector from the floor to the top of an armoire in the same location. The flat around around Dec 15 was when 4 layers of plastic wrap had been sealed over the detector window using a rubber band to exclude Rn, as a test for light leakage. Very high peak around Dec. 30 was due to test with radioactive test source (an orange Fiesta ware plate.))
- November 2006
- October 2006 (includes interesting background increase. The increase is coincident with an outdoor temperature drop and the first use of a new higher efficiency furnace, but the degree to which there is any casual relationship with the measured increase - for or against- has not been evaluated.)
