Weather Report: Generally Damp

Heading home from work in the driving rain today, I wasn't at all looking forward to my afternoon run. I figured, it was either go outside and get soaked, or hit the dreadmill for a completely unfair amount of time. Luckily, however, my motivation was spurred at just the right time by my buddy Nathan who offered his company on a trail run. The caveat, of course, being that we'd try something new.
Something new turned out to be the wettest, slippery-ist, rooty-ist, rocky-ist, most off-camber, leg-breaking trails I've ever run while living in the capital district (for those tuning in to The Daily Grind from CT, today's jaunt made the Cockaponset look like a stroll through the park). And as it turns out, Magellan and I found that the only thing more complicated than running these trails in today's conditions, was following them - as what was planned to be an hour trail run, turned out to be closer to an hour and a half. But, damn, if it wasn't a phenomenal romp.
