December 2005:
ZodiacPoker.Net has launched! Go there, have fun, Gamble! The features there are 30% sign up bonus, Many games to choose from. and I particularly like the re-buy tournys. Ever play Guts poker? They have it! Im still knockin em dead at Absolute Poker. Ive also played a few at Party Poker where I tripled up my smallish roll. Here lately Ive been playing N/L Omaha H/L. WOW what a game ( I used to hate it ) but now im suddenly making good with it. Its a crazy game. But fun if you get into one where the other players are "inexperienced" . I'd like to thank you all for your readership over this past year and wish you all "Happy Holidays".
Andy Roth
November :
ZodiacPoker.Net will launch Dec. 1st. I cant wait! Ya'll please go there and help us get going. Needless to say the zodiac thing is cutting into my poker playing time. I did manage to get some in though at Poker Stars and Absolute Poker. I love the stats on Poker Stars. (especialy when im winning). I have some keys to using these stats. Where I see if Im in too many pots and keep an eye on when Im not in enough pots. Its a valuable tool if all is right in my head.
October :
Ive made a commitment to buy a poker house. The name of it will be ZodiacPoker.Net. I'm really excited about it but this journal is about my online poker experiences. I guess thats part of it. I signed up at Poker Stars Love it, Love it, - Loveit! So many games going off at any given time. Many different stakes to choose from. Play is a little slow but thats the only downfall to the place. Still playing at Absolute Poker and liking that too. Cashed out 2 more times there this month. They have a replay button to see the hand again which is so convenient. I also use it to check past history of say, any 8's that came out how long ago.
September :
Im thinking about fast poker alot and would like to buy their software and I came across a place that sells pokersites. Im going to buy one! I got a coupon in the mail from Absolute Poker for a matching reload bonus and 1 free tourny. I reloaded and used the other coupon in a 7 stud tourny where i won.. lol ( I didnt know I could play stud ). so that became a very nice bonus indeed. Ive also done well on their cash tables. ( where you earn your bonus points ). In fact Ive cashed out 3 times this month from them. (Christmas is comming, a lil extra cash is nice.) Have a good one!
August :
Finally! The cards are treating me better. Ive got some losses to make up. Paradise Poker is my friend this month where I cashed out twice. I took half the cash and opened an account at Poker Champs funky little windows but good for playing 4 tables at a time. They have freerolls regularly. Nice change up place. Doing well at my regular haunts too.
July :
Bad beats, Bad beats, whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when they come for you. The streak continues. I moved down to $1 tournys and limited my losses during this bad time. Or maybe ill just go on vacation. Im reading a book called "trading in the zone" about how to get in the zone. Intresting but you can't try to get in the zone I dont think. I think the zone just happens. I signed up at a casino "http://www.CasinoTropez.com/" cool, I like playing craps and if you are conservative with your money you can draw out part of your bonus. Im off to shake them bones!
June :
Losing streak from hell..lol ended up the month with big chunks missing from my roll. Ive probably been playing too much. My biorhythm said i would suck and I did. Switched to playing mostly on Superior Poker. Where life righted itself. Its an ok place, friendly people. They have a stair stepper to the WSOP starting at 6 cents.. Kind of unbelievable. I really like their rebuy tournys. What you do is go all in and rebuy while all your chips are in the pot.. Then mostly everyone folds. Drag the pot AND have 2400 more chips from the rebuy. (the easy way to double up in the early part). And hell if they call ya and you lose you still have the 2400 chips. The month ended up improving but ugh,,, its tooth and nail.
May :
Fast poker unexpectedly closed down. :<( They allowed everyone to get thier money out... I wonder if they would sell me their software? Bummer I liked playing there and did well. I moved over the bulk of my playing to Noble Poker where they have bonuses to be a repeat winner on the single tables. I've done ok with them..no bonuses yet but Ive hit 3 in a row on the dirty dozen twice. Im getting tired of the freeroll action. Playing 6 hours to win $35 is to much of a chore. I can win $35 in $1-$2 table in about 20 mins. using my tight position method. Good luck at the tables.
April :
I feel as if Im on the verge of being a "good" player. Ive been very tight as to what hands and from what position I will play from the start of a hand. It is working out well. I can usually kick some ass in single table tournys. I have also gotten regularly deeper into Multi-tournys. Ive been playing at " thegamingclub" where single tables abound in all variations! I love it there! Its a great place to play. They also have a very nice bonus. It is not Matching so you can get in for $20 bucks and earn a $300 dollar bonus. Also this month I joined Fast poker they have alot of "short seat tables" where you can play a single table tourny with only 5 players. I won a multitourny there also this month. Nice and quick to play and easy to make a lil money. I use them as a warm up to another tourny. Thats all for this month C'ya at the tables good luck!
March :
This month I was contacted by our new sponcer to advertize on our page. So I was bizzy dealing with that abit and I also have a special project at work. And on top of that the weather has been nice and I'm an avid golfer. All that does not leave much time for Poker however, I did play some at InterPoker (thats my favorite place to play). They sent me an email telling me to use this code and they would give me a $25 bonus just for playing 125 hands... No problem! I also won $100 while I was there trying to get my 125 raked hands..LOL. On top of all that they had a $10 bonus for any pocket pair of Kings. They gave me $20 more for that (Is it any wonder why I like it there?). I also signed up at our main advertisers site ..The Gaming Club.. and checked it out but I have not as yet made a deposit. It seems nice though. They have a decent looking bonus. Where you get free entry to a rookie tourney that can win you a seat at the WSOP. Sounds good but Ill have to get back to you on how and what I like about the place. Thats all I have for this month. C'ya at the tables.
February :
I had a tripple high on my biorhythms at the 1st of the month. I was playing at Piggs Peak and lost the stake they gave me finally after 3 months. ( They give you $16 just to sign up ). Also I joined at Noble Poker ( They give you $16 Free also ). But I havent played there much. The biorhythms thing ain't working out as I'd hoped. :-( But by the end of the month I was doing good again. Took some money out of Poker Room and opened an account at Ultimatebet. Also I was working a bit with this web page deal. I was playing well most of the month and continually made money at every setting. Welp, short month ...Short note. Cya' At the tables.
January 2005 :
This month I signed up at Paradise Poker and got a bonus of 25% ( $25 ). I like the way this place operates as there is no fee up front for a tourny. The fee cost come out of the pool money and also I read they only take 9% which is low. The graphics are fun..flames shoot out of the cards on winning hands and they have a nice variety of games. I had a triple high on my biorythyms this month too. I didnt seem to get extremely lucky at cards though. Some mighty good things happened in my personal life that included an increase in funds. In fact I had a very bad time in the first part of the month. Keeping my head up and in the game though, live and learn as they say. Of course I've played in my usual freerolls at Poker Room and my Favorite is the $5 tourny at Party Poker at 10am central time. That English place ..InterPoker sent me an email
to get $20 just to come in and play 1 hand. Ummm ok cool. So I did. Thats about it for this month cya next month.
Dec. :
After having a small measure of success I decided to take 100 bucks out of Poker Room and start another account. Earning another bonus I went to InterPoker and opened an account. A good thing about InterPoker is they are international and by 9 in the evening in the USA its 3 am there. By the end of the month the holidays rolled around and I found myself with a fire going someone gave me a bottle of Jack Daniels for christmas. I decided to Play some Bad Beat poker over at Party Poker.. I was down to $42 on this account I had never put any money in. And with a good buzz going I sat down at a $2 $4 table thinking. "Imma win that sucka" the jackpot had gotten up to $360,000. Now I havent been around long but thats the largest ive seen it, and to think of winning about half of that almost sobered me up. Anyway I began playing and played extremely tight because of the stakes. After 3 hands I won a $35 hand. Now I was in the 60s, a few hands later won another. I was up to 85 now. 10 hands later I broke 100. Then 126. Then 164 and on and on untill I was so drunk I couldnt hold my head up. I peared at the amount I had and it said. $460. I decided to just put my head down and take a nap on the desk. Well I woke up on the Kitchen floor and my son came home and put a blanket on me. And thank god he blew out the candle. The next day I was "Recovering" then the day after was Christmas so I didn't get back on till the night of christmas. And there it was. I had 423.00 in my Party Poker account. Merry Christmas!!!
Nov. :
Novemeber started out slow. I was learning to be much more tight with my money and cards. In the pokerroom lobby I happened to see someone chatting about " Fifty dollars free" at a place called Fiftydollarsfree.com I went there. Followed the instructions of signing up then going to Party Poker and signing up there and comming back to fifty free and making postings in the forum. The next day they called me and said they were putting $50 in my real money account on Poker Party for me. COOL! I went to Party Poker and began playing. After playing in 125 raked hands, Poker Party gave me a $25 bonus.. Even cooler!!. I loved the site, the size of the tournys and The Bad beat jackpot. And I was determined to never put one cent of my own money in. By the end of the month I was way ahead but I knew I seemed to lose toward the end of every month so far so I decided to play only in freerolls just to keep my chopps fresh and my roll in good shape. I won a freeroll on Poker Room for a hundred even with bad luck. Its strange to win that many chips and be the only one there. 2,200,000 chips. I couldnt help but think of the possibilities. The final hand I won with a ten two off suit.
Oct. :
October was a busy month at work. Two other people I work with were on vacation on sucessive weeks. I would come home from work and play poker for about an hour win 25 to 40 bucks and go to bed. Then I would wake up early and win another 25 to 40 bucks before going to work. (This was a nice part time job). Again at the end of the month I ran into bad beat hell and lost just about everything I ever wagered. Luckily my roll was fat at the time and I endured the losses. I remembered something from way back in the 70s about "Biorhythms" so I went out and found a good program and checked it out. I found that the winning times I had over the past few months were just as the Bio program had predicted. Now, I didnt go off on an evangelical kind of thing about it I decided to use this as a guide. I mean there are times when you get cards and times when you dont. It seemed there was a cycle involved.
Sept. :
Sept. started off bad as August had ended. Poker Room had a reload bonus so I antied up for another 100. I also bought a book on poker called " Insider secrets by Theo Cage " By mid month I was doing well again. I found single table tournys to be of my liking and played them well, making money. I also won a single table entry into Poker Room's $50 daily where I was quickly deposed of my chips. The sharks are in the bigger tournys I surmised and decided to steer clear of those. By mid month I had a 9th place finish and 3 other in the money finishes. I decided to play some ring table action. No Limit ring tables. I was amazed and in awe of what was possible in there. By the end of the month my roll was up again and I was happy and confident.
August 2004:
I signed up at Poker Room for my 1st online game. Making my 1st deposit of 100 dollars I was eager to begin play and nervous too. The exhilaration I felt was something I had not experienced in some time. I joined a 5+1 tourny and I was off. On the 1st break I was still in and had more than what I started with. On break I was so pumped up I couldnt belive it. My 1st time ended when I just made it into the money then quickly got knocked out. Not bad I thought for my 1st time. On Aug. 20th I came in 2nd in another 5+1 and won $237 dollars. I lost to a guy I had been chatting with through out the tourny who at one time was down to 10 chips. That stuck with me, his 10 chip comeback. This was easy I thought. Then the tide turned some and the reality of poker set in. Winning is not always easy. By the end of the month I was kind of on Tilt. Getting in on all sorts of tournys I had no business playing in or paying for. I ended the month with about 80 bucks.
