The building that houses Alice's Restaurant
has been around since the 1880's. Historically speaking,
we can only attest to the last 10 years of restaurant
activities at the site (for the previous 100 years you'll
have to ask Florence our local historian.) During the
10 years there has been 8-10 owners, operators, proprietors,
lessee's, lessors, squatters and the like. They have comprised
an array of colorful folk: hardworking, not so hardworking,
friendly, not so friendly, talented, not so talented,
Christian and criminal. None of them made it. None of
them had a plan.
WE
GOTTA PLAN:
- You're gonna get GOOD FOOD. Mostly
down home cookin' with some upscale and intermittent
cultural or ethnic forays to help take the culinary
blinders off.
- You'll have a CLEAN restaurant. Not
necessarily "squeaky" clean in a neurotic
or sterile sence, but comfortably clean. Like Grandma's
house.
- You'll be impressed by our FRIENDLINESS.
We want our patrons to experience the same communication
and community comaraderie you get at the barber shop,
beauty shop, ball game, or church social.
