There will be no U.S. SCRABBLE Open in 2007 as Hasbro and the NSA pursue some other initiatives. The national championship will return to its former biannual format in 2008. That year represents SCRABBLE's 60th anniversary of the game's trademark, and Hasbro has promised support for a summer nationals consistent with previous events. The NSA is about to scout major cities as the site of the event and will inform the membership in a timely manner in 2007.
