Yuri Vodovoz is an accomplished conductor, violinist, chamber
musician and teacher . Mr. Vodovoz has concertized extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Israel and South America. His Washington
debut at the Kennedy Center for The Performing
Arts in 1988, and his New York recital debut at Merkin Hall
in 1990, were met with critical acclaim. His playing has been described as "breathtaking" (the Washington Post), "finespun
lyricism" and "high-powered technique" (The New York Times), "warm and romantic" (Chicago Sun-Times) .
Mr. Vodovoz appeared with the
Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, the Tchaikovsky Chamber Orchestra, St. Cecilia Orchestra, the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, the
American Chamber Symphony, the Bogota Symphony Orchestra, the Odessa Philharmonic, and the Illinois Symphony, among others.
As a conductor Mr. Vodovoz has led Camerata Virtuosi New York in their successful tour of Italy. He has also conducted Emilia Romagna Chamber Orchestra in Italy.
Mr. Vodovoz is Artistic Coordinator
and a member of the Alaria Piano Trio. For the past fifteen years Mr. Vodovoz has appeared on their highly acclaimed
series held at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. He has also participated as both violinist and violist in many chamber
music concerts and festivals such as Waterloo, Bargemusic, Manchester Festival (USA), Ljubljana
Music Festival (Slovenia), Emilia Romagna, (Italy),
Ameropa Festival (Czech Republic).
His extensive teaching experience include: faculty member at the Mannes College, Fordham University
and Ameropa Summer Festival.
Mr. Vodovoz has been collaborating
with the New York's Composer's Circle and with Music Under
Construction Project and over the years has premiered numerous new works by American composers.
Mr. Vodovoz's radio performances
include "The Listening Room with Robert Sherman" (WQXR) and WFMT (Chicago). Mr. Vodovoz can be heard on the Naxos, Musicmasters and LRP record label.
