Little Danny next door had this when I was a kid, and we played jet pilot for hours. Little Danny ended up being a child with deep psychological problems, but that is another story.
These are a ton of fun, and very high quality.

Here is a shot of the whole unit. These control wheels are nicely sized. In between the wheels is a console, with a manumatic console, and a working throttle. Right below the throttle is the on/off switch. Turning on the switch causes a motor whine, which goes up in pitch with the movement of the throttle, similar to the old Remco Flying Fox. Battery compartment is underneath the unit. The wheels turn, and pull out from the console. |
Here is a close up of the excellent instruments. When you turn the wheels (which are connected together) the turn/bank indicator turns. The airspeed indicator, center, moves up with the forward movement of the throttle. The altimeter is really cool. As you out on the wheels, the altimeter goes up, but it's not a direct connect...as you pull it out the needle climbs on its own accord and levels off AFTER you level off..in other words, its set to act as if the plane responded to your ascent/decent. Very neat. Right below it the Automatic Pilot will lock it into place! | |
| The compass is a manual spin knob. The throttle has a great gradient decal! | |
| Here are the great graphics on the compass. | |
| On the top is a hidden compartment where you can keep the supplied flight manual and other items. | |
| The wheels pull out on these nice polished shafts. Remco REALLY made a nice toy here. | |

All instructions are screened on the cardboard back of the unit. Battery holder is on the bottom, and batteries are held in place with typical Remco plastic bar. |
| Here is the beautiful box graphics. | |

Last but not least are the headsets. These are connected via hollow tubes, allowing the pilot and co-pilot to talk to each other. You can really hear through them!!! |
Notes:
All in all, a very fun "dashboard toy" manufactured near the end of the popularity of such items. We miss them!
