Octopus
Here is an octopus that I encountered on a drift dive off the
coast of West Palm Beach, FL. He isn't being very photogenic.
This is one large octopus. The rock he is under is more than 2
feet across. I would imagine the head of the octopus without the
legs is about the size of a basketball.

Up
He peers out from under the rock at us. He
wasn't in the mood to be disturbed. I think he
could have crammed me into that hole which is
about the size of a coke can if he got a hold of
me.

Spotted
I would have swum right past this rock if I
hadn't seen the pile of shells outside his little
hiding spot. He was eating well on all sorts of
shellfish.
