  Sea Turtles More...

Welcome to the Turtle Pages. Sea Turtles are one of the most amazing animals I think one will encounter in the ocean. They breathe air but they go under water and sleep. I have seen turtles on deep dives up to 300 feet.

Hawksbill

I encountered this Hawksbill Turtle on a dive in West Palm Beach, FL. He was very cooperative to the whole video process. He cruised along doing his turtle thing letting me get pretty close.

Eye

He eyes the camera but just cruised along. I was careful not to get to close and disturb him.

Speed

They look pretty cumbersome in the water but when they really want to move out a few beats from their powerful flippers propel them along at a rapid pace.

Curious

I swam along with this turtle for close to 10 minutes. I think he was curious about what I was up to and didn't show any signs of fear.
