MINISTRY
OVERVIEW
As
a worship team, we express our love and adoration of the Lord Jesus
Christ through the use of movement and dance. We are called to:
- Praise the Lord with dance;
- Demonstrate our gifts in the midst of the congregation; and
- Encourage the congregation to join us.
It
is our goal to exalt the Lord while providing Christian love and
fellowship. We seek to please God with this expression of worship and,
therefore, are often conservative in our approach to the ministry of
dance.
Our
dance team requires a spirit of unity and purpose to be effective. We
do not volunteer merely in response to a sense of duty, or participate
to promote our individual talents. We respond from a heart of love for
our Lord, and a desire to serve Him and use our talents to promote the
message of His gospel. Our priorities as a dance ministry are first to
the Lord, to our church, to each other, then to the public ministry of
dance.
We
respond to God's call to the dance ministry in various ways. The dance
team has need of not only dancers, but also: intercessory prayer
warriors; sewing and creativity in the area of costume design;
administrative help with dance functions, such as visitations,
conferences and/or workshops; hospitality for social functions;
encouraging the congregation to enter into praise and worship dance;
lighting design and music coordination to name a few. As a ministry
team, we will seek God to help you determine how your gifts can be used
most effectively to glorify God through this ministry.
