Summary of the Custom Furniture Process

Custom furniture begins with an idea that is combined with the customer's needs, historical precedents, ideal forms of classical design, and a sound knowledge of wood and woodcraft.  The project then moves to the selection and milling of rough lumber.  That step provides the beautifully prepared stock for the final steps.  The design is implemented -- joints are cut, pieces are assembled, and finish is applied.
