175 Thanksgiving Turkey Baskets Delivered Saturday November 22, 2003

Dwight "Bouty" and Mary Boutwell started this project 23 years ago, and 18 years ago they motivated our Rotary Club to join in. Thanks to all of the Rotary, Interact and family members for their work and generous monetary donations. Thank you too, to Cyndi Parulan, for coordinating the paperwork. The donations are gathered at Bouty's Warehouse from all our benefactors: Biffwell Enterprises - Beach's Market, Rosemead - Sterilite Corporation - Morehouse Foods - Giuliano's Specialty Foods - Con Agra Foods Corp. - Frito-Lay - Pathfinder Trucking - Charlie Klinakis, Alert Insulation - Heather & Roy Manning, Cookie Lady - Gabriele Macaroni Co. - Briglio & Cheung, CPA. The Rotary Club buys the Turkeys and the night before delivery all the donated produce is stacked in a circle. Early the next day all the volunteers arrive and the basket filling process begins... |
| They bring their cars, trucks, wagons, SUVs, even police cruisers and load them up with overflowing thanksgiving baskets, turkeys and crates of juice. Delivery maps are handed out and off they go to spread the good will... |
