The Color of Hate, May 19, 2009
The Color of Hate is an outstanding example of how one mistake can ruin the rest of your life. Shaun, a married
black man, has a one time affair with a white woman during a period in history when it was unheard of. The union produces
a child, whom during the 60's does not fit into either the white or black race. And besides having to deal with that trauma,
she also has to live with the knowledge that her mother died because of racism. The fact that there is no "Isaac Hayes" or
"Marvin Gaye" playing in the background (as mentioned by one reviewer) doesn't matter, because the story is not about them.
It's about making choices that can hurt more people than just you, and the substance of the book more than compensates for
the lack of oldies playing in the background |
