"Flowers of the Needle" by Tricia Nguyen
April 21, 2007
Cost of kit is $140.00

This needle necessity is inspired by the 19th centuy samplers where metallic fibers have been used to accent the silk embroidery.  The 3-1/2 x 5" case can hold a variety of tools or a small project and is paired with a needlroll to park your pins and needles while working.  Worked on 40-ct linen, the pieces combine counted work and a number of embroidery stitches in addition to metal threads and spangles to the design for extra sparkle.  The kit includes all silk and metal threads, silk finishing fabrics, ribbons and materials.  The linen will be pre-mounted on scroll bars for each student with outlining and design transfer done so that we may take full advantage of our time together.  To aid in your finishing of the projet at home, the kit will include a CD-ROM with detailed pictures of the embroidery and finishing process.

Deadline to order is $March 1, 2007.

Diane Clements class:  Strawberry Lace Case -
Kit Price $110 includes scissors and pins
Estimated teaching fee $55 - 60

We will have two sessions, each consisting of two days.
Class dates will be Friday/Saturday March 14/15 2008 or Sunday/Monday March 16/17 2008.
There is a lot of prework (approximately 8 hours), so deadline for signup is the Oct 2007 meeting of OCSG.  Prework kits will be handed out at the Jan 2008 OCSG meeting.  There is a limit of 22 in each of the identical two day classes, so you must give a choice of the Fri/Sat class or the Sun/Mon class when you signup.  Both classes will be held in the Ontario/Upland area.  A waiting list for each class will be maintained when each reaches its maximum.

For signup for either class, contact Pat Correz at:  egangcorre@aol.com  or 909 875-6698.

Both classes are currently filled and waiting lists have been started.  Be sure to contact Pat if you are interested in being placed ona waiting list.  There is no obligations until the checks are due in the summer of 2007.
