As Steelix pointed out, it's been a while since I've updated the Clan's history journal (i.e. the front page you are now reading). And as the last update had us scattered to the four winds and the future of the Clan looking dismal, an update is most certainly in order. However, rather than write the cheery footnote I noramally would here, I think I'll just quote what Steelix sent to me as I feel it speaks for the heart of our Clan and for the hearts of all of its members: It's been almost five months since the last front page
header has been updated. In that time some of us have left Avatars
of Vishnu, others changed Worlds and still others have joined
new linkshells! Some of us even went away to play Halo 3. But
now old members have returned and those of us who left to play
Halo 3 have also come home! Our Clan must be part Phoenix, for
the Avatars of Vishnu have risen from the ashes, and we are burning
bright once more! I don't think I could have said it any better myself. Welcome
home everyone. Well, it's been over three years since I started the Avatars of Vishnu- Three years I have toiled to make this a linkshell that friends could call home, a place where you could ask for help, chat about anything or just be silly. It looks like that era has come to a close- Most members, old and new, have left in my absence. I don't blame you. I'm sorry I couldn't be there to help keep things together. May the Goddess bless you all in your journeys across Vana'diel... July 18, 2007 Hang in there guys and gals- I'll be back on real soon ^^ In the meantime I've updated the Members section. Please let me know of any corrections. May 30, 2007 Just a reminder that the Members' Page is only as up-to-date as you guys keep my informed. The best way to do that is to post your latest character info in the designated topic in the Forums. Any new members to the linkshell should be encouraged to visit our website and sign up in the forums for this very reason. ^^ February 8, 2007 Please take a moment to congratulate Macadam and Kaazumi who have both shown unwavering dedication to the Avatars of Vishnu and whose loyalty to the members of our Clan has exceeded the Code that binds them together. As such I have seen fit to elevate their status to Clan Lord effective immediately. /cheer January 14, 2007 Just a quick update- I know a lot of the veteran Clan members haven't been on a lot in the past few months (myself included), a situation which will hopefully soon be rectified. Just to be clear, none of us have actually quit the game, we've just all needed breaks for various reasons. Rest assured that a return in emanate. In the meantime, welcome Manoh, Seara and Tetzuo to the clan. November 4, 2006 Long story short- My PC crashed. Sorry to all the new members I haven't properly welcomed here (Broketooth, Kaazumi and Okaami). The Members section has been updated with new stats and a few sunrises. If your name, rank or information isn't correct, that's because you haven't emailed them to me or posted them on the Forums (hint, hint). August 15, 2006 I finally updated my other website, in control! Reviews of Final Fantasy XI (along with a slew of other games) can be found there. Also please welcome Steelix to the Clan. ^^ May 12, 2006 Maikerukenji and Missty also join our ranks! May 9, 2006 Treasures of Aht Urhgan is here and so far I'm loving it! In other news, Vatary hands out linkpearls like candy at Halloween, so welcome Macadam to the Clan! January 30, 2006 Wow, Vatary actually contributes to the clan- Welcome his friend Rosenkruz. January 14, 2006 Wow, first post of the new year. As many of you have undoubtedly noticed, I have been conspicuously absent from Final Fantasy XI as of late. Fear not, I will be back to my usual play time soon enough- Being the father of a new baby boy kinda changes your priorities. Some of my closer friends in the clan also know that I am eagerly anticipating this game's release on the Xbox 360. I can only add that my enthusiasm is heightened by the fact that I am now playing a Tarutaru black mage by the name of Tenshinoshi on the Hydra server (which is home of the Xbox 360 beta). As impressed as I am with the sharper graphics and 5.1 surround sound, nothing can keep me from my main character on the Shiva server, so fear not my fellow Avatars. ^.^ October 21, 2005 Now welcome Vatary to the clan... and make sure to give him "special" treatment... *cue evil laughter* Mwhahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa! September 27, 2005 I've put off this announcement as long as I could, but it appears that finality has set in- Shagatsu and Shekideki have quit the game indefinitely (though word is they'll be back for Christmas). Even worse, Indrani, Indira, Yamiyo and Sayeh have all permenately left the world of Vana'diel. All will be missed and, should any return, will be welcome back into the Avatars of Vishnu with open arms. With the departure of Shekideki and Indrani, that leaves Chupar and myself as the only two original members of the clan. July 29, 2005 After accompanying Exodus and myself on the Fellowship Quest (wherein we can now "summon" NPC fighters to our side for battle), Ssjtommo has joined the Avatars of Vishnu. April 25, 2005 A new member has joined out ranks, so please welcome Onara when you see her (and if you're daring, ask her what her name means). On a personal note, the path of the Summoner has been very trying these past two weeks, but I emerge from many battles with new Avatars to command- Shiva, Ifrit, Ramuh, Titan, Garuda and Leviathan are now mine to summon. ^^ March 17, 2005 A couple of minor updates to the website with focus on the Members section. Please contact me in-game with your most current Avatar info so I can update you information accordingly. March 1, 2005 It's the One Year Anniversary of the Avatars of Vishnu- Let's celebrate! February 27, 2005 Good news- Chupar has rejoined us (like we didn't know he wouldn't be back) and Modernromeo has been reincarnated as Wootaru. Of course, there are new faces in the LinkShell, so be sure to say (|Hello!|) to Boognish and Upachan when you see them on. January 1, 2005 It's a new year- Fast approaching the one-year anniversary of this clan- and Final Fantasy XI still holds just a much interest for me now as it did when I first entered the world of Vana'deil. That said, a few clan members are on the temporary inactivity list. Don't be surprised if you don't see the ever-present Chupar or the elusive Shekideki. Also bid farewell to Modernromeo as he has moved on to another server to play with his sister. Hopefully we won't be too long without our friends. Meanwhile, Happy New Year! October 12, 2004 Well it's obviously been a little while since the last update. Shortly after procuring new server space, the host of our clan website (as well as my art and game review sites) vanished under the pretense of server upgrades. After almost two months of nary a peep from them, I suspected that something might not be quite right. So here I am, after an exhaustive search, I've settled on using my own Verizon personal web space to host the Avatars of Vishnu Clan and the in control game review site. Please contact me in-game or via email with your current information so that I may get the Members section up to date. On that note, welcome Exodus to the clan- He's a personal
friend of mine and a fairly knowledgeable RPGer who I managed
to seduce in to playing Final Fantasy XI. If anyone has been curious as to my recent absence, I can only tell you that a series of very personal events have recently happened in my life that left me with zero play time. On top of that, I had to set up two new computers, find compatible software for Windows XP so I could continue to do what I love and set up DSL in my household (which meant finding a new home for my websites as well). In short, I've been very, very busy and even more stressed-out. On top of all that, I somehow managed to come down with the flu as well. Anyway, I should be back in the groove of things in short
order and look forward to seeing you all online very soon. The clan is still going strong (at least, as strong as it was which may leave something to be desired for a sane person). But hey, we're in this for fun, right? Speaking of which, if you're on the Shiva server and you're looking for a Linkshell full of the greatest guys and gals playing Final Fantasy XI, send one of us a message and we'll happily chat with you about our clan. May 1, 2004 The announcement of a new expansion pack for Final Fantasy XI, Chains of Promathia, has me quite excited with the potential of new job classes as well as new areas to explore. Hopefully a few more summons make the cut as well... In clan news, we bid farewell to Guss and welcome Yamiyo to the Avatars of Vishnu. Additionally, two more residents of Shiva may soon be amongst our ranks, so keep your eyes on the members section. Lastly, I have begun working on the update to my game review site, in control, which will feature an editorial about Final Fantasy and should be finished by the end of the month. April 15, 2004 The Avatars of Vishnu officially has a Linkshell now! As I see members of the clan, I will hand out Linkpearls. If you're interested in joining the Avatars of Vishnu, send an email or contact one of us in the game. April 13, 2004 The Avatars of Vishnu is growing little by little and all the hard work I've put into the clan is finally starting to pay off- Square Enix's PlayOnline Community has officially accepted the Avatars of Vishnu as a Community Site! Great news for us as it makes the clan feel more official. March 24, 2004 I officially got Final Fantasy XI today! After installing the HDD and playing around with all the nifty options (including installing the latest DVD drivers and clearing up space on my memory card), I began the registration and update process. I then proceeded to play around with every single PlayOnline option (downloading all the wallpapers in the process) and setting up my account. Retrieving the patches on dial-up didn't take nearly as long as some claimed it would (well under two hours for both the PlayOnline and Final Fantasy XI updates) but taking care of my daughter left me little time to actually play the game, so I'm going to start fresh tomorrow. I hope everyone is enjoying their game- I look forward to meeting new people and (hopefully) recruiting clan members. March 12, 2004 Aside from the inevitable tweaks that will take place once the game is released, the Avatars of Vishnu clan website is officially done! Now it's time for me to catch up on some much needed sleep. March 9, 2004 As you can see, work on the Avatars of Vishnu page has begun in earnest. I don't foresee any reason why I shouldn't have the page complete before the North American launch of the Playstation 2 version of Final Fantasy XI. Naturally, the members section will need updating as more players join the clan, but with the framework and HTML coding already in place, these sort of updates will be minor. March 2, 2004 I worked into the wee hours of the morning, but it was worth it to get the message board customized. A little more tweaking after I finalize the design of the clan page and the message boards should be perfect. March 1, 2004 Basically, all I've done thus far is come up with the name of the clan, create the logo (isn't it swell?) and secure webspace, a URL and message boards for the clan. |
