Origins
Avatars of Vishnu was created March 1, 2004 in anticipation of the North American Playstation 2 release of Final Fantasy XI. The purpose of this clan is to have a variety of players from all over the world united under one banner for mutual support and gain. The idea being that no matter what time of day you enter the mystical lands of Vana'deil, there will always be fellow clan member ready to quest with you, lending advice and assistance in whatever capacity they can.

Our Code

Without order there is chaos and trapped in the midst of chaos we can accomplish nothing worthwhile. Members of the Avatars of Vishnu adhere to a moral code of duty and honor, not only to each other but to all of the citizens of Vana'deil. As such, each member must actively practice the following nine tenets:

_» Obey the laws of Vana'deil established by Square Enix.
_» Restrain from the use of ethnic, gender or age-related slurs.
_» Do not use crude, profane or course language.
_» Avoid platform-related arguments or confrontations.
_» Treat others with a full measure of dignity and respect.
_» Abstain from making war with other citizens or clans.
_» Render aid to your fellow clan members when called upon.
_» Hold true your allegiance to the Avatars of Vishnu.
_» Above all else make sure you are always having fun!

The Tale of Vishnu

Vishnu is the name given to a Hindu deity who is worshiped as being the protector and preserver of worlds. Part of a trinity of gods, which also consists of Shiva (destroyer and restorer of worlds) and Brahma (The Divine Light, creator of the Universe), Vishnu often descends to Earth, manifesting itself in physical form as either man or animal which is known as an Avatar.
