Installs

This page is basically just to showcase some of the car audio installs I have done over the last ten years or so.
Some of the pictures are not of the best quality as I didn't have a digital camera back then, and I've had to resort to scans of film prints.
The majority of my work is for myself, friends and family. I tend to be selective with my "clients" and try to help out younger friends when I can.
Very few of my "customers" want to pay for high end work so I usually stick to "old school" designs that get the job done quickly and inexpensively.

On the left is the hatch of my '92 Eagle Talon. The box was designed to show no wires, and be easliy removed for trips down the dragstrip.
On the right is the hatch of my wife's old '96 Eagle Talon. This could still hold 5-6 bags of groceries, and the flush mounted Alpine 3555 amps kept it clean looking.

This is the sub setup in my wife's '02 BMW 325xi. It's a JL Audio 12W0 powered off of a Fosgate Punch 40.2.
She didn't want the trunk to be flashy so I made it very plain.

This was an unfinished system in my brother's old Mazda. I made the custom door rings for the Alpine component set.
There were two Kenwood Excelon amplifiers in the trunk, one powered the three 12W0's and the other the highs.

Systems in a Volkswagen GTI. The setup on the left was an early design with Precision Power Sedona series amplifiers.
The second image was a quick SPL setup with some Planet Audio amps. Both shared the same JL Audio 12W3 subwoofers.

A Chevy full size extended cab truck with Profile California amplifiers mounted in the side pockets, and MTX enclosures under the rear seats.

My wife's Pontiac Grand Am. This was one of my first larger "clean" systems.
It had Alpine V12 amplifiers flush mounted on each side of the trunk and a Pair of Orion XTR10's in a ported enclosure.
The box was internally lit with blue lights and also had an oval cover that would fit in place and cover the plexiglass back completely.

The left picture is the amp rack in my first Buick Grand National. It held a Precision Power A600, A404, AudioControl Epicenter and 3XS crossover.
The right picture is my current Buick Grand National. It has a Planet Audio Quadra on the highs, and a Vector D on the two JL Audio 12W3's.

This '80's Camaro featured a "floating" amp rack with Power Acoustic amps and "12 Power Acoustic subs.
I built the amp rack for two Kenwood amps in the older Chevy full size regular cab truck. The second amp was mounted behind the first one.
The owner insisted on using those Rockford "10 full range boxes and wanted me to make the amp rack to match.

The left was a wall in my brother-in-law's Plymouth Neon that held a pair of Lanzar 15's powered off of a Jensen amp.
On the right is an amp rack with flush mounted equipment in a Cavalier.

Some of the walls I had in my '91 GMC Jimmy. This was my personal toy for many years and with 8 JL Audio 12W3's it rocked the spot.

Different amp racks in the Jimmy from above.
The left picture is the first amp rack with four PPI A600's and an A404. Some of this was leftover from my first Buick shown earlier.
The right image shows my upgrade to Planet Audio amps. My power doubled from 2400 watts to the subs to 4800 with this move.
I also added five more Optima Yellow Top batteries. My SPL score topped out at 156dB with this system.
Here is a link to my DB Drag Racing stats page from back then.

Custom fiberglass lower door panel in the Jimmy holding a pair of JL Audio "6.5 coaxials, and a raised JL logo.
The right picture is the very first system after I sold the first Buick. It was simple but I had much bigger plans, obviously.

This was in a Cavalier Z24. It had Alpine V12 amps and JL Audio 12W1 subs.
The second picture is of my old '92 S-10. I recycled the Orion "10 subs out of the Grand Am from above, and the amp is a small Rockford Punch 40.2.

This Blazer system featured a custom fit enclosure holding a JL Audio 500/1 amp, and a ported 10W7 sub.
Newer Ram on the right has one of my old 12W3's out of the Jimmy and a Hifonics amp.

This Honda Civic was probably the second full trunk I did after my wife's Grand Am.
Flush mounted Alpine V12's behind the seat, and Rockford Fosgate Punch 12's in the trunk.

Single MTX Thunder DVC "10 sub and Infinity DPA-275 Class D amplifier in my Ranger Edge.
