Description:

The First film "Decline..." showed the birth of punk. This film shows almost 20 years later, what's happened to it. Basically the film is about homeless teenagers who are into punk, living off the streets of LA. It's harrowing to watch and hear what these kids go through each day. Also scary is when they're asked where they'll be 5 years from now, they all answer "dead". Despite what the former poster here said, the director is totally on the sides of the kids. She does not exploit them or ridicule them. She just basically interviews them--where they came from, how they survive, what about the future, etc. She's showing a small portion of society you never really see portrayed in films. Worth watching, but very sad.

Over 500 punx from all-over in Embra for 10 days drinking it dry of cider and stumbling about at several dozen shows. Sure some of it is boring and some bands are crap but there's a hell of a lot of good stuff... trust me! So along with all the interviews, punx football, punx picnic, punx in trunx, demos all these bands get at least one song (Schwartzeneggar and Oi Polloi get a few).

Here’s an interesting little feature I dug up the other day regarding the label Epitaph. This documentary was one of the bonus features on the “Punk-o-rama The Videos Vol 1” DVD. This is a great documentary detailing Epitaph’s expansion from the very beginning, featuring interviews with Brett Gurewitz, Fat Mike, Fletcher Dragge and various Epitaph employees. There are also many funny stories told and it’s amazing to see how the label rose from being run out of the back of a recording studio to having offices all over the world. This documentary is a must have for anyone wanting to learn more about Epitaph or people interested in one of the focal points in modern punk history.

Musician and filmmaker Don Letts made this Super 8 documentary of the London punk rock scene in 1977. Shot mostly at the Roxy, a short-lived punk club that hosted every important rock band in the neighborhood, The Punk Rock Movie captures an exciting moment in the development of some artists that are still imitated and adulated today. While the Sex Pistols and the Clash are likely to be the most familiar names in attendance, The Punk Rock Movie spends plenty of time on some legendary acts that never licked the same brass ring. Fans of the under-documented Johnny Thunders will want to see the footage of the Heartbreakers live on tour in England. Siouxsie & the Banshees, X-Ray Spex, Generation X, Subway Sect, Wayne (Jayne) County, and Eater are other notable rockers who are seen in rare early performances. Backstage revelry and tour bus boredom is preserved as well, with the dark side represented by unflinching scenes of drugs and self-abuse. Most of the film is live, loud, breakneck rock, featuring some energetic footage of the Sex Pistols at the height of their hype and the Clash set for stun and gathering its army.
