KISSIMMEE, FLORIDA

March 2004

KOA WythevilleWytheville, Virginia. This is our third visit and the ten hour drive seemed easier this time.

KOA Richmond HillRichmond Hill, Georgia. Our second visit and we are still very impressed with this KOA.

Tropical Palms Fun ResortKissimmee, Florida. This is our third visit to our favorite Kissimmee campground.

Old TownKissimmee, Florida. A new trill ride has been added, G Force. This is a unique and very realistic drag racing simulator with two prostock style cars that have to be staged at the starting tree and then raced against each other for the best reaction time and fastest elapsed time. The cars have realistic sound and smoke effects and are propelled down the track by compressed air, reaching speeds of 115 mph.

Strawberry FestivalPlant City, Florida. As advertised there is plenty of free entertainment, however seating is limited and controlled by ushers. We only got to enjoy two of the shows and spent over three hours in construction delays on I-4.

GatorlandKissimmee, Florida. We were pleasantly surprised with this attraction; it is not the tourist trap you might assume, an enjoyable and educational day.

Boggy Creek AirboatsKissimmee, Florida. Skimming across the surface of Lake Tohopekaliga was a unique and exhilarating experience, sitting in the front of the boat felt like you were the navigator in the jet boat races on TV, lots of gator, turtle and waterfowl sightings. We would suggest bringing a coat, skimming across the lake at 40 mph into a headwind was chilly; purchases of Boggy Creek sweatshirts before departure were frequent.

This trip also included return visits to the Animal Kingdom, we were impressed with the new and exotic animals added since our first visit, Arabian Nights, still the best entertainment value in Orlando, and Universal Studios.

The Barnyard RV ParkColumbia, South Carolina. This is our third visit.

Mount Morris Travel Trailer CampMount Morris, Pennsylvania. Our second visit and this time only electricity was available, with no rate reduction.
