Day Care & After School Program

Kiddie Haven Day Care has been providing services in McKeesport since 1982. Located on the lower level of the Church, Kiddie Haven offers day care services to infants, toddlers, and school age children.

Objectives

Too often "Day Care" means little more than babysitting, supervised child care in an organized setting. To us, "Day Care" is The First Step in the educational process. It is a chance to see that your child begins on the right foot - to learn to relate to other children, to find himslef/herslef and to develop habits that will help him/her to a full and satisfying life.

Kiddie Haven's primary objective is to provide quality childcare, a smooth and happy transition from home to day care and a secure atmosphere for both child and parent.

Kiddie Haven Day Care Objectives

• To provide a warm safe, accepting environment where the children have a sense of belonging, worth, comfort, direction and purpose.
• To acknowledge and accept differences in culture and to encourage pride while accenting the value of differences.
• To develop personal relationships on the following levels:
  Teacher / Child
  Teacher / Parent
  Teacher / Child / Parent
• To provide a climate for learning in which children get along with one another and with the teacher.
• To encourage children to verbally communicate their feelings. Getting feelings out in the open help the teacher to deal with a child's concerns.
• To aid your child in feeling autonomous by verbal reinforcement of his/her achievements.
• To respect the language of the home or community.
• To stimulate and motivate the child's natural desire to explore his/her environment.
• To provide time for expression through art, drama, and other means that allow for the child's individuality.

Staff

All group supervisors and lead teachers have had child development training and have experience working with children. All staff members have:
Act 33 Clearance, which states that they have no record of child abuse & Act 34 Clearance, which states that they do not have a criminal history
