Need for Speed

I now have NFS: Hot Pursuit 1 and 2 and a new Logitech force-feedback steering wheel. If anyone's up for some multiplayer racing, let me know!

  • As soon as I fix my stupid computer, I'll be all over it. I was just not willing to spend the extra $ for the force feedback but I did end up with a logitech... totally the best. The only other problem I have is that I can't get it out when my son is around or he'll have a freak out if he doesn't get to play. So 364 days of the year it stays buried in the closet. This would at least give me an excuse to use it a few times. What I really want is NFS: underground 2... The rain effect is amazing and the sound is spectacularly powerful. Hmmm... that might be a problem too. Guess I need headphones for my computer.

  • Two things that I just have to say about my wheel:
    1) setting up Logitech software is horrible -- it took me a couple hours to get XP to recognize my wheel.
    2) attaching the wheel to a desk is difficult unless it's perfectly flat. I had to use my old computer desktop because my new desk has a curved edge, and the wheel won't stay on. Grr.

I played the NFSU2 demo but didn't like it. It didn't seem very natural to enter races by driving over icons. Why don't they have races already occurring that you drive up to? Where are the police in the city? Just my opinion.
