The frustration is definitely mounting. I personally felt it when I tried to write an IronPython based little program and was thwarted by a ton of things that hadn't been implemented yet. When I checked on the mail list archives it appeared that people had some private patches but when I asked a question I was either considered a newbie who didn't deserve answering or else nobody was really listening.
The problem is that IronPython is a great prototype that could eventually be made into something complete. But the prototype is so good that people really want to use it (which is a fundamental rule in developing... don't provide a prototype that's that complete). As written about before, the IronPython concept is so compelling that it MUST be done and the fact that nothing is happening is cruel to those who really need it.
