Congregation Beth Hamedrosh – A Place of
Learning
True to its name, CBH
offers its members and the larger Jewish community a variety of
opportunities for learning. Classes are open to all, without fee and
without regard to membership in the shul. In addition to a full
schedule of shiurim, the shul encourages and facilitates chavrusah
learning both with our rebbeim and with peer chavrusahs.
Here is a sampling of
current classes and other opportunities for learning:

Daf Yomi – a daily Talmud class
which takes place each morning before Shacharis. Taught by Rabbi Caplan.

19 Letters Class – a weekly shiur
on this classic work by Rabbi Samson Rafael Hirsch regarding the
response of Orthodoxy to the Enlightenment. Taught by Rabbi Caplan.
·
Ramban Shiur – an advanced class on
the writings of Nachmanides. Taught by Rabbi Caplan
·
Jewish Prayer Group – a practical
class for both beginners and advanced daveners to help us grow in on our
prayer lives. Taught by Rabbi Goldstein.

·
Women’s Learning Group – led by
Leah Gotlib on Saturday afternoons, this class is presently focusing on
the development of “Middos,” Jewish virtues.

Tehillim Shiur – a class on the
Book of Psalms. Taught by Rabbi Gutman.
·
Chumash Learning Group – this is a
small learning group on the parsha for the week, based upon Rashi and other
commentators. Participants have the opportunity to both work on
their Hebrew reading skills and explore the meaning of the parsha. Taught by Sheldon Feinstein.
·
Advanced Talmud Study Group – an
intensive weekly class for those who have some background in Gemara.
Taught by Rabbi Cohen.
