Congregation Beth Hamedrosh - A Place
of Prayer
CBH is first and foremost a
House of Prayer. We have minyanim each day for Shacharis, Mincha and
Maariv, and offer a full schedule of Shabbos davening. The times of our
daily minyanim and Shabbos services can be found on our
home page.
Shabbos davening begins
each Friday with Mincha, Kabbalas Shabbos and Maariv. In addition to our traditional minyan, we offer a Carlebach Kabbalas Shabbos service
once each month.
Guaranteed to uplift your spirit and warm your soul, in
our Carlebach minyan we daven the tefillot to ruach-filled melodies
composed by Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach.
Shabbos morning services
begin at 9:00 AM. There is both a traditional minyan each week and a
“User Friendly Minyan” held once each month for those who have not had
the opportunity to learn the prayer service. This
link will take you to a
description of the UFM.
In addition to the UFM, the
shul has a “davening buddy” program, through which individuals who are
unfamiliar with the prayer service are paired with a more seasoned davener. Some helpful guidelines for davening at CBH can be found
here.
Late in the afternoon on
Saturday, we daven Mincha and then gather for a light Shalosh Seudos at
which a member of the congregation gives a drash on some aspect of
the parsha ha’shevua. We then join in several zemiros and bench.
Maariv and Havdalah follow and complete our celebration of Shabbos.
