What are You?
An atheist  "is a person after investigating all areas of reality, science, anthropology, archaeology, philosophy and religion, and based upon his thorough investigation, has not found any evidence that there is a God."
An agnostic "is a person who says 'Based upon everything I know I doubt God exists, but, I am still searching and studying, and I am open to the possibility that He does exist."
A fool "is a person who says in his heart, 'There is no God'."

With all of the other books written, how can we know that the Bible is God's only book?  There is a ton of material anyone can read to prove this so I am just going to hit on the major points and you can take it from there.

What about the manuscripts themselves:
There are tests that historians use to determine the authenticity of a manuscript.
1. Bibliographical
2. Internal Evidence

BIBLIOGRAPHICAL:

Since we do not have the originals of any book of the Bible, how reliable are the copies we have?  That is answered in two ways: by the number of manuscripts we do have and by the time interval between the original and the oldest existing copy.
There exists today 13,000+ manuscript copies of portions of the New Testament.  There are 5000 Greek manu-
scripts alone.  No documents of the ancient period are as well attested to as the New Testament.  When looking at the Roman Empire era we find very few other existing manuscripts on Roman history that are written with-in 200 to 300 years later and some as high as 1300 years after the fact.  This is not so with the New Testament.  We find that the copies that we have are only a short time from the events themselves.  And when older manuscripts are found they are in complete agreement with those we have found previously.  The same is true with the old testament.  We continue to find manuscripts written thousands of years ago that show the accuracy of the ones we use today.

INTERNAL EVIDENCE:

Has what the Bible said found to be true?  The Bible mentions cities, peoples, kings and events as well as facts now known to science.  Archeology has uncovered what the Bible has already told us.  Science now swings more toward creation than evolution.  Things which were impossible for man to know by his own knowledge were revealed in the Bible thousands of years ago.  More than that special coding of the words and letters have been preserved so that they spell out many details that are now happening or have taken place that would have been impossible by chance.
I personally have a computer copy of the Omega Code and have found it to be almost beyond belief.

Jesus came on the scene some 350 years after the Old Testament was written and yet the prophecies that are about just Him alone are staggering.  Here is fantastic prophecy given by Dan. 9:24-26.

24'Seventy `sevens' are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.
25"Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven `sevens,' and sixty-two `sevens.' It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble.
26 After the sixty-two `sevens,' the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing.
The seventy sevens refers to seventy weeks of years.  A prophetic year is 360 days.  So in verse 25 it tells us there will be seven sevens and sixty two sevens that equals 69 x 7 = 483 yrs. x 360 days = 173,880 days from the time that the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Messiah will be cut off.  We read in Nehemiah 2:1 the time the decree went out.  This time was computed by the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, UK, to be March 14, 445 BC.  Christ was rejected by the Jews on his entry into Jerusalem on April 6, 32 AD.  When you compute the days it is exactly 173,880 days.  That took care of the 69 but what about the 70th. seven.  You will need to take a look at my End Times section.  Its called the 7 year tribulation period.

Ready for another one?

The return of the Israelites to their homeland.

Ezekiel 4:4"Then lie on your left side and put the sin of the house of Israel upon yourself.  You are to bear their sin for the number of days you lie on your side. 5 I have assigned you the same number of days as the years of their sin. So for 390 days you will bear the sin of the house of Israel.
6"After you have finished this, lie down again, this time on your right side, and bear the sin of the house of Judah. I have assigned you 40 days, a day for each year. 7 Turn your face toward the siege of Jerusalem and with bared arm prophesy against her. 8 I will tie you up with ropes so that you cannot turn from one side to the other until you have finished the days of your siege.
Here we have 390 years + 40 years = 430 years. In Jer. 25:11 he prophecies that Judah shall be in captivity to the Babylonians for 70 years.  History tells us this took place in 606 BC and a partial return to Israel in 536 BC.  This left a period of 430 - 70 = 360 years. But Israel did not repent and God on at least 4 different occasions said that if she did not repent then He would multiply her punishment by 7.

Lev. 26:18"If after all this you will not listen to me, I will punish you for your sins seven times over.
If we multiply 360 X 7 = 2520 years.  There are 360 days in a prophecy year so 360 x 2520 = 907,200 days.  In our calendar year there is 365.25 days. So, 907,200 ÷ 365.25 = 2483.75 years left for Israel to be dispersed.  It was on the 1st day of Nisan 536 BC when the partial group of unrepentant Israel returned to Jerusalem. Now Watch This.
2483.75 years later comes out to May 14, 1948.  You do know what happened on that day don't you?...........
THE JEWISH PEOPLE PROCLAIMED THEIR INDEPENDENCE AS A NATION!
Time and space will not permit me to give you all of the fulfilled prophecies.  Here are just a few of over a hundred on Jesus.

The Messiah is born in Bethlehem:
Matt. 2:1After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod
Micah 5:2"But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah,
out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old,
from ancient times.

Jesus rides into Jerusalem on a donkey:
Matt. 21:. 7 They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them
Zech 9:9Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem!
See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

Judas Betrays Jesus:
Matt.26:14Then one of the Twelve--the one called Judas Iscariot--went to the chief priests 15and asked, "What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?" So they counted out for him thirty silver coins.
Psalm 41:9Even my close friend, whom I trusted, he who shared my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.
Zech 11:12I told them, "If you think it best, give me my pay; but if not, keep it." So they paid me thirty pieces of silver.
.
Judas returns the silver:.
Matt.27:3 When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders. 4"I have sinned," he said, "for I have betrayed innocent blood." "What is that to us?" they replied. "That's your responsibility." 5So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself. 6The chief priests picked up the coins and said, "It is against the law to put this into the treasury, since it is blood money." 7So they decided to use the money to buy the potter's field as a burial place for foreigners
Zech 11:13And the LORD said to me, "Throw it to the potter"--the handsome price at which they priced me! So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the LORD to the potter

Jesus on the Cross:
Matt.26:67 Then they spit in his face and struck him with their fists.
Psalms 50:6I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting.

Matt:27:39Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads 40and saying, "You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! Come down from the cross, if you are the Son of God!" 41In the same way the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders mocked him. 42"He saved others," they said, "but he can't save himself! He's the King of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him. 43He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he said, `I am the Son of God.' "
Psalm 22: 7All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads:
8"He trusts in the LORD; let the LORD rescue him. Let him deliver him, since he delights in him.".........

Matt:27: 46About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi,C lama sabachthani?"--which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?".....
:7"For a brief moment I abandoned you,
but with deep compassion I will bring you back. 8In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment,
but with everlasting kindness....."
Psalm 22: 1"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? ........

John 19:28 Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, "I am thirsty."
Psalm 22:15My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth;

Luke 23: 46Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." When he had said this, he breathed his last.
Psalm 31:5 Into your hands I commit my spirit;

John 19:23 When the soldiers crucified Jesus, they took his clothes, dividing them into four shares, one for each of them, with the undergarment remaining. This garment was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.
24"Let's not tear it," they said to one another. "Let's decide by lot who will get it."
Psalm 22: 18 They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing.

John 19: 33 But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs.
Exodus 12:46"It must be eaten inside one house; take none of the meat outside the house. Do not break any of the bones.
Psalms 34:20 he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken

Prophecy Proves the Bible True:  Science Proves the Bible True: Archaeology Proves the Bible True: Anthropology Proves the Bible True:

Suppose I was a scientist and I wrote a book on some very complex system.  You read it but you don't understand it.  Then the author comes to your house and goes over each detail and explains everything to you.  Then you can understand.  That is the way the Bible is.  You can understand the basics but unless the Author who is God comes to you by His Holy Spirit and teaches you, you will never understand.
