The definition of a cult is; "a system of religious beliefs and rituals which contradict the historical Biblical position accepted by Christianity; also; its body of adherents."

The most common denominators are the cults teach a different plan of salvation, present a different Jesus, and are formed by a person who claims to be the true spokes person for God and alone has the true understanding of the Holy Scripture.

While Christianity holds a very descriptive and unpleasant doctrine on hell most of the cults soften this doctrine which becomes all the more alluring to the minds of men.

Cults also hold their members through fear of leaving.  They become so brainwashed into believing that should they leave thier eternal doom is sealed.  Think about this;  if you have departed love ones that were in the cult and you decide to leave and accept Christianity then you are faced with the ultimate conclusion that they are eternally lost in hell.  Quite a deterent, huh?  Of course their other option is to stay in the cult and join them.

The Bible is very clear that their leaders are false prohets and their doctrines are doctrines of demonic spirits.

In my format it will not be the intent to show every doctrine of every cult but just to hit the major issues.  For more study I have included on each page a couple of links that can go to get more info.  Of course if you have any questions you can go to my guest page and I will try to answer you as best I can.

Here is a site that has a lot of info on various cults.
