This is bascally an issue that everyone likes to avoid unless they want to argue about "religion".  Never the less it is a most important issue.  God is love so "how could a loving God send anyone to such a place" so it is asked.  The answer most generally is, "He doesn't.  We reject His love and chose hell ourselves".  Every major cult and religion other than Christianity has taken hell out of their doctrines.  They do it in several ways either by denying the Bible or twisting the meanings of the word hell.
It all sounds appealing to the human mind but just believing in something else doesn't make it so anymore than believing it is makes it exist.  So lets take a look at what the Bible says and go from there
