IMMORAL ISSUES
Home Christianity Feedback
I'm only going to try to hit the major issues of today, which are many.  Of course there is much disagreement even with-in the walls of the christian sects.  But there is no disagreement when it comes to the word of God.  The major problem is that the organized church of today has moved its boundaries with the times and the movements of the culture.  For example the movies that are shown today that are rated PG-13 would have been scandalous 40 years ago.  Were they wrong then? No!  The true church or body of Christ still views these issues as wrong as they did 40 years ago, 100 years ago, etc.

So take a look at the issues if you dare and see where you stand.

Backbiting:
SLANDER (Heb. dibbah, slander, Gr. diabolos, slanderer). A malicious utterance
designed to hurt or defame the person about whom it is uttered. The Scriptures often
warn against it.
Col 3:7 "You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8 But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips."
James 4:11 "Brothers, do not slander one another..."
Eph. 4:31 "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice."
Lev. 19:16 "Do not go about spreading slander among your people."

Backsliding:
This is a term that is used quite frequently to Israel in the old testament but is just as prevailant today for the church.  Below are just a few of many scriptures that talk about this.
Blind (2Pe 1:9; Rev 3:17), godless (2Jn 9), idolaters (1Co 10:7), lukewarm (Rev 3:15-16), grumblers (Ex 17:7; 1Co 10:10), forsaking God (Jer 17:13), tempting Christ (1Co 10:9), forsaking God's covenant (Ps 78:10-11; Pr 2:17), turned aside to evil(Ps 125:5; 1Ti 5:15)
Luke 9:62 Jesus replied, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God."
The question ultimately arises, 'How far can I backslide?'  Is there a line I can cross that I may never come back to God?  This of course comes into the realm of 'Eternal Security'.  So rather than repeat what I believe on this matter see that topic.
Go to Eternal Security

Beastality:
Exodus 22:19 "Anyone who has sexual relations with an animal must be put to death.
Lev 18:23 "Do not have sexual relations with an animal and defile yourself with it. A woman must not present herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it; that is a perversion.
Lev. 20:15 " `If a man has sexual relations with an animal, he must be put to death, and you must kill the animal.  16 "If a woman approaches an animal to have sexual relations with it, kill both the woman and the animal. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

Betrayal:
Prov. 25:9 If you argue your case with a neighbor, do not betray another man's confidence, 10 or he who hears it may shame you and you will never lose your bad reputation.
Matt 10:21 "Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. 22 All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Blaspheme:
BLASPHEMY (Gr. blasphemia). To reproach or to bring a railing accusation against any one is bad enough (Jude 9), but to speak lightly or carelessly of God is a mortal sin. The third commandment, "You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God" (Exod 20:7), was observed so meticulously by the Jews that they would not speak the sacred name (Jehovah) at all, and so no one knows today for certain how it was pronounced.
God prescribed that in Israel the punishment for blasphemy would be death by stoning (Lev 24:10-16). (Naboth was ). Naboth was falsely charged with blasphemy and was stoned to death (1 Kings 21:10-13), as was Stephen (Acts 6:11). Stoning was also in the minds of those who charged Jesus with blasphemy (Matt 9:3; 26:65; Luke 5:31; John 10:33); what Jesus said about himself would have been blasphemy were it not true.
What was the charge that had Jesus nailed to the cross?
Listen up JW's and those who do not believe Jesus was God.
He was accused of blasphemy because he proclaimed to be 'GOD'.
Here is one you better not be guilty of:
Mark 3:28  "I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them. 29 But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin."

Boast:
2 TIM. 3:2 There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God-- 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.
JAMES 4:16  you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. 17 Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.
Pa. 10:3 He boasts of the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the LORD. 4 In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.

C

Carnality:
CARNAL Fleshly, with reference to the body as the seat of the desires and appetites; usually used in Scripture in the negative sense, as opposed to the spiritual.  Two words are used in the greek both with similar meanings.  The one being worldly, driven by the human nature the other having some actions that have no place in a Christians life.
In 1 Corinthians 2:14-3:4, Paul divides mankind into two classes--the natural and the spiritual; this corresponds to the classification of people as once-born and twice-born.
Then he classifies Christians as "carnal" and "spiritual" (KJV; NIV has "worldly" and "spiritual") and lists the marks of carnality as "jealousy and quarreling" and undue emphasis on personalities: "I follow Paul--I follow Apollos." "Carnal" does not necessarily imply active and conscious sin but is opposed to "spiritual" (Rom 7:14; 2 Cor 10:4; Heb 7:16; 9:10). It describes the dominance of the lower side of human nature apart from God's work in one's life. The KJV OT uses the expression "lie carnally" to describe adultery (Lev 18:20) and fornication (19:20), but far more often it refers figuratively to idolatry. To take the love that belongs to husband or wife and give it to another is adultery, and to take the love that belongs to God and give it to another is idolatry (Hos 1-3; Rev 17:18).  Human nature, deprived of the Holy Spirit, and dominated by sin (Ro 7:5, ftn); usually "sinful [nature]"
Which ever the case being carnal has devastating affects on the life of the believer and can lead, if not corrected to their self destruction.
Romans 7:5 For when we were controlled by the sinful nature, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, so that we bore fruit for death.
Romans 8:9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.
Romans 8:12 Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation--but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. 13 For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, 14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

Child Abuse:
We lived in a society where we have throw away children.  People no longer understand the meaning of the word 'family'.  They conceive children out of lust rather than love.  Children only become instruments of an imposition to them.  They are selfish and neglect them because it takes away from what they really want
to do in life.  There is no feeling for them.  They have become cold and demand their rights over the childsrights to live and have a family and a happy childhood.  Parents bash, lash, beat, flog, stomp, suffocate, strangle, gut-punch, pull their hair, choke with rags, use hot pepper, poison, crack heads open, slice, rip, steam, dismember, lock them in presses,. They use fists, belt buckles, hair brushes baseball bats, shoes, iron pipes, bricks, chains, knives, sissors, lighted cigrettes, boilng water & open gas flames.
They also abuse them mentally by yelling & telling them they don't love them and they don't want them.  This not only brings them mental but great physical health problems, especially to the nervous system.  Parents who are fighting and yelling around the children can have the same affects.
Herod was going to kill all of the children in Bethlehem from two years old & under. Christs life began with his rescue from infanticide, the ancient & widespread form of ultimate child abuse that has tragically marred much of human history throughout the ages.  (Matt: 2:16)
Moses escaped from pharoah's order that all the male children of Israel be killed. (Ex. 1:15-22)
He (King Ahaz)  walked in the ways of the kings of Israel and even sacrificed his son in the fire, following the detestable ways of the nations the LORD had driven out before the Israelites. (2 KINGS 16:3)
But the greatest one example of child abuse today is ABORTION:
Go to Abortion Page

Conspiracy:
Being leagued together by an oath, or swearing together, generally for an evil cause.
Instances of:
Joseph's brothers, against Joseph (Ge 37:18-20). Miriam and Aaron, against Moses (Nu 12; 14:4; 16:1-35). Abimelech, against Gideon's sons (Jdg 9:1-6). Gaal, against Abimelech (Jdg 9:23-41). Delilah, against Samson (Jdg 16:4-21). Abner, against Ish-Bosheth (2Sa 3:7-21). Of Absalom (2Sa 15:10-13). Of Jeroboam (1Ki 14:2). Of Baasha (1Ki 15:27). Of Zimri (1Ki 16:9). Of Jezebel, against Naboth (1Ki 21:8-13). Of Jehu (2Ki 9:14-26). Of Jehoiada (2Ki 11:4-16). Of servants, against Joash (2Ki 12:20).

Most of the conspiracies brought havoc and death to people and nations.  But some God turned them around and brought what was meant for evil to be used for good...  The great example.  The conspiracy and plot of man and satan to kill Jesus.

Covet:
The inordinate desire to have something or the excessive desire to have what belongs to another .
Exodus 20:17 "You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor."
Luke 12:15 Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions." Connect that with this one.....Matt. 16:26 What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?
Eph. 5:5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person--such a man is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient.
Col. 3:5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

Bottom Line:  When you love things more than you love God enough to obey Him that is covetness and that is greed.  You love another instead of God and that my friend is IDOLATRY.

D

Dancing:
There are many instances of dancing in the Bible.  The problem is that people today don't know when, how and where they should, or for the right reason.  Dancing in the Bible wasn't always for the right reason or in the right manner either.  Lets look at two catagories,  Worldly dancing and Religious dancing.
RELIGIOUS:
Acceptable
Ex.15:19 When Pharaoh's horses, chariots and horsemen went into the sea, the LORD brought the waters of the sea back over them, but the Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground. 20 Then Miriam the prophetess, Aaron's sister, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women followed her, with tambourines and dancing. 21 Miriam sang to them:  "Sing to the LORD,  for he is highly exalted.  The horse and its rider  he has hurled into the sea."
Not Acceptable
Ex. 32:15 Moses turned and went down the mountain with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hands. They were inscribed on both sides, front and back. 16 The tablets were the work of God; the writing was the writing of God, engraved on the tablets.  17 When Joshua heard the noise of the people shouting, he said to Moses, "There is the sound of war in the camp." 18 Moses replied:  "It is not the sound of victory, it is not the sound of defeat;  it is the sound of singing that I hear."
19 When Moses approached the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, his anger burned and he threw the tablets out of his hands, breaking them to pieces at the foot of the mountain.
The above cases speak for themselves.  The first is dancing out of joy for what the Lord had done and was in praise to him.  The second was to satan in idol worship, forsaking God, and was done in a lewd fashion.

Acceptable
Ps. 149:1 Praise the LORD.
Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints.
2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King.
3 Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and harp.
4 For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation.

Ps. 150:1 Praise the LORD
Praise God in his sanctuary;  praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power;  praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,  praise him with the harp and lyre,
4 praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.

So what is the reason here for the dancing? To Praise Him
Where are they doing it?  In the sanctuary
Who are the participants?  Gods' people
What kind of dancing are they doing?  Rock? Boogie? Slam? Not Quite.  There was no shakin your boony or hip hop, there was nothing sexually motivated, it was pure praise and acceptable to God.  Todays dances not  a  chance in similarity.

We could go on and on with scriptures but here it is.
People today and yesterday dance out of sensual lust.  Now there was a lot of fun in the different dances such as the tango, or waltz, or even learning the crazy kid stuff.  But today it deals mostly with sexual body movements and it is perverse to God.  It is a lust of the flesh that needs to die.

Everything that is good from God man perverts with sin, dancing that is  lewd or suggestive or to music that is against Gods word & glorifying sin or where you dance is wrong.

Deceit:

In Rev. 12:9 satan is called the deceiver who leads the whole world astray.  You can be a deciever as well deceiving others or even yourself.  Or others can deceive you.

1 Cor. 6:9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived.
Gal 6:7Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
James 1:13 When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.  16 Don't be deceived, my dear brothers.

Are you being deceived about any of the above as well as other things?  Whose fault is it?   What did you say "the woman did tempt me and I did eat" No, No, "The snake did it".  The greek uses the word doloo has the implication of using God's word mixed with untruth to bait or lure.  This is what cults and at times even the occult does, as well as false doctrines and religions.  But, Remember God gave a commandment

"DO NOT BE DECEIVED".

A word to the unwise:
Matt. 18:7 "Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come!

Dishonor Parents:
Ex. 20:12  "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.
Eph. 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2"Honor your father and mother"--which is the first commandment with a promise-- 3"that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."
Col. 3:20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

As I look back in my own life as well as past history I have seen a great acceleration of ungodly children. The disobedience, arrogance and irresponsibility has increased more in the last decade than all of the decades in the past put together.  The Bible and God is out of school and drugs, guns and violence are in.
Our educators have tried to assume the role of the parents and have failed miserably.  We were warned it was coming and now it is here.  Parents take back control of your home and your children.  Train them in the ways of the LORD before it is too late.

2 Tim. 3:1  But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.

Dishonesty:
Ex. 20:16 "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor

We know of course that there are a lot of ways to be dishonest.  But it really all adds up to the basis on this commandment and that is 'lying'.  We tell ourselves when we cheat on our taxes that the government owes it to us, we take a small item from work and we say 'well the company knows it and doesn't care'.We are dishonest when we don't tell someone the truth because of maybe it might upset them, so we tell
a little white lie.  We excuse ourselves and just forget about it.  We think God overlooks it.  In case you have never been told before IT IS NOT POPULAR TO FOLLOW JESUS.

So what does God think about being dishonest.
Acts 5:1Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property. 2With his wife's full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles' feet. 3 Then Peter said, "Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? 4Didn't it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn't the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied to men but to God."  5 When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died. And great fear seized all who heard what had happened. 6 Then the young men came forward, wrapped up his body, and carried him out and buried him. 7 About three hours later his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. 8 Peter asked her, "Tell me, is this the price you and Ananias got for the land?" "Yes," she said, "that is the price." 9 Peter said to her, "How could you agree to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look! The feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out also." 10 At that moment  she fell down at his feet and died. Then the young men came in and, finding her dead, carried her out and buried her beside her husband.
Ok, so we all have been dishonest and gotten by with it.  So we think.  We can fool ourselves in thinking that God doesn't care but if we saw into the spiritual realm and see the results of that error I think we would choose differently.
David, give us some parting advice:
Psalms 34
11 Come, my children, listen to me;  I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12 Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days,
13 keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies.
14 Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry;
16 the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth.

Divorce:   Go to Marriage Page

Double Minded:
The greek word double minded is dipsuchos, meaning two souls.  The person is unstable and is a doubter. They go between two opinions.  Generally you will find this person who acts one way with a Christian group and another way when they are with the worldly crowd.  Then we aren't sure about something sowe may flop back and forth.  Here is a word on that.
James 1: 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

"God opposes the proud
but gives grace to the humble."

James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Being double minded is a sin not a fault.

Effeminate:
To make oneself into having woman like qualities.
1 Cor. 6:9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were.
We all realize that there are men who have women like qualities and women who have manly qualities.  But that is not sin.  That is a genetic thing.  But this verse talks about something that can be changed.  Notice it says it is wicked and that some were that way before becoming Christians.   Go to Homo-sexual Page

Envy:
James 3:14  But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. 15 Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. 16 For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.

Sounds like envy is something you don't want hanging around if it has the possibility to cause every evil practice.  How many evil practices can you think of?

F

Fighting:
When I was a policeman I learned  of two laws; Assault & Battery.  So there is a law against verbally threating and a law against physical abuse.  Fighting could just be arguing.  Words at times can inflict a lot more pain than physical blows.
James 4:1 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you? 2 You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
Not having it your way is just another act of the old human nature which should have died with Jesus on the cross and buried with Him.  Walk away from it.

Filthy Language:
Col. 3:8 But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.
Eph. 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
Why is it the people use filthy language.  Some have said it is because they do not possess a large enough vocabulary to express themselves so they use it to fill in.  That may be true to some extent.  For some that is just normal for that is all they heard growing up and being with others who used it.  It used to be against the law to do so in public and especially over the broadcasting systems.  Not so anymore.  Satan has now saturated society with his filth that the morals over the years are broken down and you are the one who is out of step if you don't use it.  This is equally as true in our schools.  The Bible makes it clear it is not ofGod and a Christian should not be a partaker in this worldly act of the flesh.
Matt. 12:34... "For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36 But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. 37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."
Hit your thumb with a hammer, someone make you really angry....Watch out, if you have a mouth attack the the Bible says it is really a heart attack.

Filthy Jokes:
Hey! Have you heard the one about........!  I start to cringe up inside because I never know what is coming next.  I work around new people that do not know that I am a Christian and even if they did most think it is ok to tell these jokes.  No subject is sacred.  Most are in very bad taste when you think about them.
Ethnic jokes have been told by the millions.  Even our greatest tragedies are not off limits to those whose minds are perverted.  I hear some speak of Christ in so such a prayerful way and the next thing you know they change gears into profanity and filth.  People make their living by creating or telling this garbage.
As a Christian what do you do?  Sit there and laugh, support the sponsors, what?  If these things do not offend you then I have to question if you indeed have the Holy Spirit with in you.
Eph. 5:1 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children 2 and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. 3 But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people. 4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. 5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person--such a man is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.  6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 7 Therefore do not be partners with them.

Strong Words to consider, wouldn't you say.  SO........
2 Cor. 13:5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you--unless, of course, you fail the test?

Hypocrisy:
One who says or proclaims to be one thing but their actions prove them to be something else.
How many times have you heard this before? "Why should I go to church, its' just a bunch of hypocrites." How close are they to being right?  Hypocrisy is a big problem in the organized church, not all but most.
Matt. 23:25 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. 26 Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.
27 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.
Hypocrites can cause others to stumble and they should be opposed.
Gal. 2:11 When Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was clearly in the wrong. 12 Before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group. 13 The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray.
A Christian does not have the option to be a hypocrite.
1 Peter 2:1 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. 2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.
Peter just told you to GROW UP.  How long did you say you were a Christian?

Incest:
In the beginning when man was created we were 100%, perfectly healthy.  We were free of all diseases.  Asyou know man also had a very long life span of up to almost 1000 years.  It was impossible not to marry someone who was not a family member.  Such as the case of Cain who married his sister.  At that time there was no commandments given, no law from God nor health rules.  Man was simply told to go forth and to populate the earth.  After the flood our life span was cut down to 120 years.  Later we read in Psalms that it was further cut back to 70 years.  As we progressed our bodies became diseased and weakened by sin. Because of mans lust of the flesh he took everything that was good such as sex and made it wicked.  In
Romans 1 we read much about this.  God wanted to create a family.  It was to be a unit which represented His Holy kingdom.  In order to do this He established laws of Holiness and Purity as well as health.
The word Incest is not found in the Bible but rather is listed as sexual impurity.  Under that topic he says many things.  Butlets look at the ones which be incest, that is one of a close blood relative.

Lev. 18
6   No one is to approach any close relative to have sexual relations. I am the LORD.
7   Do not dishonor your father by having sexual relations with your mother. She is
your mother; do not have relations with her.
9   Do not have sexual relations with your sister, either your father's daughter or your
mother's daughter,  whether she was born in the same home or elsewhere.
10 Do not have sexual relations with your son's daughter or your daughter's
     daughter; that would dishonor you.
11 Do not have sexual relations with the daughter of your father's wife, born to your
     father; she is your sister.
12 Do not have sexual relations with your father's sister; she is your father's close
     relative.
13 Do not have sexual relations with your mother's sister, because she is your
     mother's close relative.
14 Do not dishonor your father's brother by approaching his wife to have sexual
     relations; she is your aunt.
16 Do not have sexual relations with your brother's wife; that would dishonor your
     brother.

Lev. 20:
11 If a man sleeps with his father's wife, he has dishonored his father. Both the man
and the woman must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
17 If a man marries his sister, the daughter of either his father or his mother, and
they have sexual relations, it is a disgrace. They must be cut off before the eyes of
their people. He has dishonored his sister and will be held responsible.
20 If a man sleeps with his aunt, he has dishonored his uncle. They will be held res-
     ponsible; they will die childless.

Here is an interesting practice on how the church should be dealing with these types of sexual sins.
1 Cor. 5:1 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: A man has his father's wife. 2 And you are proud! Shouldn't you rather have been filled with grief and have put out of your fellowship the man who did this? 3 Even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. And I have already passed judgment on the one who did this, just as if I were present. 4 When you are assembled in the name of our Lord Jesus and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present, 5 hand this man over to Satan, so that the sinful nature may be destroyed and his spirit saved on the day of the Lord.

In case you haven't understood what the Gospel is all about, it is the destruction of the sinful nature.  For that is what cause you to sin.  Unless that occurs through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit you can not be saved.

Kidnapping:
There are a lot of variatons to the laws on this matter.  And there are different circumstances.  They range from minor offenses to criminal and evil behavior.  The worst of course being the destruction of the child.
The U.S. ranks high in this category and when you look at the bottom line it deals with sexual impurity and if you go on down towards the root you will find pornography the major contributor.  When it comes to that type of kidnapping I stand firmly on the Bible's word.
Ex. 21:16 "Anyone who kidnaps another and either sells him or still has him when he is caught must be put to death.

Lying:
Proverbs 6
16 There are six things the LORD hates,  seven that are detestable to him:
17 haughty eyes,  a lying tongue,  hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19 a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.

Proverbs 12
22The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in men who are truthful.

Lust:
1 John 2:15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For everything in the world--the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does--comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.
Lust:
It is a craving, generally after things God does not want you to have or something that is from the old sinful nature.  It is something that is a general practice of the world and those who do not know God.  It could be in the form of sexual impurity or something which brings sinful pride, a lust for power or wealth.  It can come in the form of a thought which God judges as the same as the act.  Protect your mind.  Think on the things that are of God.  If you have uncontrolable lustful thoughts then you have one of two problems. (1) You have not crucified the flesh through the salvation that God has given you, or (2) It is a demonic stronghold in your life that needs to be dealt with.
1 Peter 4:3 For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do--living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. 4 They think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you.
1 Th. 4:5 It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; 4that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, 5not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God. Prv. 6:25 Do not lust in your heart after her beauty or let her captivate you with her eyes,
26 for the prostitute reduces you to a loaf of bread, and the adulteress preys upon your very life.
Col. 3:5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.
Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12 It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,
Matt. 5:27 "You have heard that it was said, `Do not commit adultery. 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Murder:
Ex. 20:13 "Thou shalt not kill.
Actual translation: You shall not commit murder.
Matt. 15:19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.
1 John 3:15 Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.
If you truly hate someone in reality you have killed them in your heart.  As far as you are concerned they are as good as dead to you.  That kind of hate, God says, makes you a murderer.  Think about it.
Rev. 21:8  But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."

Nudity:
Today do we not only have the girly books but the books for the girls as well.  There is absolutely no limit to the smut can be bought or gotten for free for that matter especially via the internet.  I used to at one time be able to take my family to the beach, not so anymore.  Nudity is in the commercials, on the soaps, in the movies, etc.  They put nudity in movies when there is absolutely no purpose for it, which of course might otherwise be a decent movie.  Satan has one purpose in mind and that is to draw you in whenever and however and nudity is one of the ways he does it.  But as I have quoted the Bible elsewhere it is worth repeating.
Matt. 18:7 "Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man (or woman) through whom they come!
1 Tim. 2:9 I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety.
A woman should not cause a man to lust by dressing indecent.
2 Sam. 11:2 One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing.
If you follow this story in the Bible out it goes to adultery - to murder - destruction of anothers family - to the death of a child - to the loss of the closeness of God - to the loss of a kingdom.  And David was a man whowas said to be by God, one who was seeking Gods heart.    See Pornography Page

Pornography:
Matt. 5:27  "You have heard that it was said, `Do not commit adultery.  28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

Prejudice:
Lev. 19:15 Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly.
James 2:1 My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don't show favoritism. 2 Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in. 3 If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, "Here's a good seat for you," but say to the poor man, "You stand there" or "Sit on the floor by my feet," 4 have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

When we hear the word prejudice, and I think most are getting pretty tired of hearing it, it generally has to do with the color on your skin and that is generally black/white.  People such as Jesse Jackson has basically done more harm than good.  His claims of being a man of God is a joke which has not helped either.
The government tries to institute policies which only causes more problems.  I have served in the far east as well as Europe and am quite familiar with the ways of different nationalities.  Gods rules about intermarriage to the world are now only suggestions.

But the Bible basically speaks of the division between the classes of people not the races when it comes to prejudice.  I hear some place themselves so high on a pedestal its a wonder they don't have nose bleeds when they talk about the poor or down and outers.  To often the neglect of the parents falls on the children as a reproach.  But no matter what kind of back ground you come from if you give your life to Him He can
make things happen in you life that when you look back it will be as a cinderella come true story.  And the ones who are so high and mighty He says this

"Pride goes before a fall...."

Rape:
There are many stories in the Bible about various rapes that occured.
RAPE Law imposes death penalty for (Dt 22:25-27). Captives afflicted with (Isa 13:16; La 5:11; Zec 14:2). Instances of: Dinah by Shechem (Ge 34:1-2). The servant of a Levite by Benjamites; tribe of Benjamin nearly exterminated by the army of the other tribes as punishment for (Jdg 19:22-30; 20:35). Tamar by Amnon; avenged in the death of Amnon at the hand of Absalom, Tamar's brother (2 Samuel 13:6-29, 32-33).

The laws vary from state to state as to the punishment.  Not so with God.  At one time I used to visit the jails and talk with the inmates.  In every case where a man was in for rape he was also involved in porno.
Statistics will tell you that every serial killer with sexual molestation was involved in heavy porno.  We can shut our eyes and say that it only happens to inbalanced people but that is simply not true.  Read the full story on Ted Bundy or get his last video that was made just before he was put to death.
