SALVATION
Home Back to Christianity Feedback

YOU must be absolutely sure on this one.  As I stated before your salvation is laid out in one book and one only and that is the Bible.  Your salvation is dependent upon ONE person and His name is Jesus.  Make sure you know the right Jesus.  Your salvation is confirmed by the Holy Spirit.  If you don't have the Holy Spirit living in you then you are Not saved.

Over the last 30 years I have heard many invitations given to the unsaved to be saved.  I have read the books of preachers past and present on the matter.(Many books).  I have noticed more and more that the message is changing.  In most of the churches today we have what I term "a no repentance, no Lordship of Jesus, cheap grace Gospel."

I know that salvation is a gift of grace to all who would accept but what I see people are not being told the whole truth.

Why do we need to be saved?
Because we are all sinners and no one is with out sin and the punishment for sin is not only physical death but eternal separation from God.  We will all live eternally, but where is the big question.

Who has the power to save us?
Jesus and only Jesus lived a sinless life and then he gave it to pay for the price of sin that was on our heads IF we accept His terms.  Now that is where we come to a parting of ways.

First some basic things you must know?

Romans 10: 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?"

1.  Your soul and spirit will never die.  That is the real you.  The body will die but not you.
( A lot of cults teach different on this matter.)

Matt. 10:28 "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul."
2.   Since you are eternal where will you be eternally?  There are two choices, with Jesus in
His kingdom or with satan in his.  It's your choice.
Romans 2:7 "To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8 But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger."

Rev 19:11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Dan12: 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.

3.   There is an Eternal God and He has set down the rules.  He is a just God and we play
      the game His way, Period.

4.   You must realize that you are a sinner and need to be saved from the continuation of
sinning and forgiven by God to be eternally with Him.

Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"
So Then, What are His terms?

Being a sinner God declares we need to be saved not IN but FROM our sins.  Not  when we get to Heaven but here on earth.

Mt. 1:21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because He will save his people from their sins."
Romans 6:1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?

God has given us one Savior and that is His son Jesus.

Acts 4:10 It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. 11 He is the stone you builders rejected, which has become the capstone. 12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

There is not many paths to God as so many would have you believe.
If you believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, that He paid the price for your sins by His death on the cross which blotted out your sins and gave you God's forgiveness, that He arose from the grave and gained victory over death and Jesus ascended to the throne of God the Father which he oversees His body the church ,(not a place but a people), and He has sent back to live in us His Holy Spirit to guide us, empower us over sin, comfort us and to instruct us in all of His ways so that we may become more like Jesus then you will be saved.
Salvation is a process.  As we walk according to the Holy Spirit we are being saved daily.  We make our choices according to His will not ours.  We learn His ways not the worlds. We can't have Jesus as our Savior and Him not be our Lord.  We can not.  That is where the real problem in the religious system of the church shows itself.  So many cry, Grace, Grace, but have no Lordship.  When you speak of obedience or Lordship they cry, Works,
Works, you can't go to heaven by works.  These people are blasphemers and destroy the true message of God.

It comes down to this.  Do you believe in what I just told you?  Are you willing to forsake the ways of the world to gain eternal life?  Then what are you waiting for? "Today is the day of Salvation." Don't pray the mamby pamby prayer of Jesus come into my heart but get really serious about your sins and your future eternal destination.  Ask for His forgiveness, turn from your ways to His, and ask Him to be your Lord and then trust Him to guide you through his Word and by His Spirit.  He won't fail in His part and if you continually trust in Him and walk with Him you won't either.

Here  is  the  Process:

2 Cor. 4:18 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit
Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, 4 in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit. 5 Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; 7 the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. 8 Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. 9You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you. 12 Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation--but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it.,13  for if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live,14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
END RESULT -  ETERNAL LIFE - WITH GOD

Rev. 3:3 Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.
