The museum's collections of fine art, textiles, furniture, ethnological objects and archives reflect the settlement of the border area between Quebec and Vermont. Tours are conducted in English and in French.
The Old Stone House Museum in nearby Brownington is part of the Brownington Village Historic District, listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
Built as a school dormitory in the 1830's, this four-story structure was designed and erected by a man believed to be America's first African American college graduate and first African American legislator, the Reverend Alexander Twilight.
