Dana Engineering uses the Values Mapping process to help companies gather and align their
staff members’ attitudes and beliefs about how to achieve organizational success. Value Engineering (Value Methodology)
is a tool used to extend the collaboration gained from Values Mapping. Both are facilitated organizational decision
processes.
Values Mapping
beneficial uses:
·
Determining what is important to your Customer
·
Focusing on communication issues (ex: Operators won’t talk to Engineers)
·
Characterizing commitment, safety culture, alignment between staff and goals
·
Helping to plan and implement a complex project
·
Leading performance measures (staff attitudes, beliefs, and perceptions)
·
Resolving conflict
·
Clarifying values, attitudes and beliefs
·
Procurement source selection criteria, Strategic Planning, etc.
Value Engineering
(Value Methodology) beneficial
uses:
·
Provides a reliable quality product, process or service at the lowest possible cost
·
Maximizes beneficial change by focusing on the functions of the facility, system or process (functions-that
which makes a product work or sell) enhancing the current design/method
·
Allows the design and/or process to be safely challenged for understanding
·
Allows the team to understand the nuances of the standards and requirements driving the design
and/or process
·
Allows the team to discuss and come to a more complete collective understanding about the expectations
of the process or design from a customer, designer, constructor/fabricator, and operator/user perspective.
·
Results in quantified beneficial changes more easily integrated into the current design or process
The success of both processes is
based on the skill and experience of our trained facilitators. We have been facilitating
these “Value” processes for more than 20 years to many organizations.
