We sent out a few links to this months site. We pray that there is benefit in doing this. One of the problems
a church leader has is in determining what is worthwhile and what is not. There are a lot of good things that could
be done, but they may take away from the most important things.

We had a great service in song and Scripture last Sunday and it is good to change the format on occasion. We had
some new interior doors installed at the building this week and it has changed the apperance of the vestibule a lot.
I am thankful to the group that has been working on this project.
I am glad that April has joined our team. I do belief she will be a great asset for us as we move forward at Midway.
We have a lot to do and we need a lot of help so please keep the congregation in your prayers on a regular basis.
I just received an email from Cass and he has baptized a woman that he has been studying with for several weeks.
We rejoice with the angels in heaven when this happens. There are a lot of people searching for the truth today and
we want to encourage those, like Cass and Gail, who are trying to find and teach them. We have others in our family
who are doing this also but not nearly enough.

It has been a Good Friday and a beautiful day in Sarasota, Florida. May the Lord bless you this weekend and may
you think of that Sunday when our Savior arose from death.

Church Finance & Tax Seminar
I attended a Church finance and tax accounting seminar in Tampa yesterday. The concept presented was that the IRS
is going to watch tax free entities more closely than they have. The biggest change for us would be the use of envelopes
for collections. We will probably have to have a source document to verify what people are giving and that will have
to be filed with IRS electronically. This is probably coming.
This group also emphasized that the church providing the preacher a house is not in the best interest of the preacher.
There are just too many advantages for the preacher to own his own home and this should be encouraged in all cases.
Another area that was emphasized is the classification of employees. The church needs to be aware of the tax laws
concerning who is an employee and who is not. The error is to treat those who are - as not, and this needs to be monitered.

We are in a new month, and a new spring season, and we change time today. This is a great time to change yourself
as well. Let us all walk closer with the Lord!
