I have returned from my seventh annual visit to the beautiful state of Maine and the Gander Brook retreat.  This was one of the best that I have been involved with.  The theme was we need men to take action for the Lord.  Men need to step up and be real men. 

This month we are featuring the "Gander Brook Men's Retreat." We have sent links to site to a few selected individuals.

We are amid quiet a week at Midway.  This past Sunday the Inman family and Dawn Bell placed their church membership with us.  I pray the Lord will bless all of us because of this.  Ladies Bible class and the area church leader’s meeting resumed yesterday after taking a summer break.  We also had our last scheduled “Tuesday for the Lord” day and I must say this was a successful event. 

 

I am looking forward to my annual pilgrimage to Maine next week.  I ask for your prayers while I travel.  Bob and Bud are filling in for me this month and it does give me some relief and time to do some catch-up work.  Things are going good at Midway and I really do believe we have changed for the better over the past year.  There is an air of excitement around the building these days.  

 

April has been a great part of this new excitement and we have been blessed for the work she has done for Midway these last few months.  Her health is not allowing her to continue in a regular work schedule at the building during the week, but she will still be actively involved with our involvement and fellowship team and assisting the congregation as she can.  Thanks April!

We had our third "Let's Grow Midway" meeting this morning and this was Fellowship & Involvement.  It was well attended and the ground work was laid for some good progress.  I am thankful to all those who were there.  September is a busy month for me and I pray for your patience.  Bud is going to help out on Sunday evenings this month which will allow me to focus on some other things.  Bob Evans is also going to teach a couple of the Wednesday classes.  God is blessing us!
