Right to Life Committee

The Right to Life Committee's mission at Holy Name of Mary parish is, first of all, to promote a consistent ethic of life and urge others to pray that our nation might grant all human life the dignity to exist from conception until natural death.  In addition, the Committee coordinates scheduled and special parish activities sharing our Christian solidarity and urgently needed material resources with expectant mothers and their children in need of such support.

We invite everyone to join in this preeminent social justice program of our Church.  Come pray with us the Rosary in Church every first Saturday of the month (9:30 AM); visit the Life Tree in the Church commons to give a gift of life to help an expectant mother or her child; or join us for the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C.  To find out more about what we do and what you can do to build the "culture of life" in this parish, call Greg Thompson at 586-9417.

March for Life -- Friday, January 22, 2010

The March for Life will be held in Washington, D.C. on the 37th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade verdict legalizing abortion. The Knights of Columbus are organizing a bus trip to the March for participants from our area. The buses will depart from and return to St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Lynchburg.

We usually charge adults $20 to ride the bus, but we would like to offer the trip to students and older parishioners for free. We would be grateful if those who cannot join us would send donations to help pay for the bus. Please send donations to the parish office in an envelope marked "March for Life."

For questions or to make reservations, please call Tom Gilsinan at 297-3722, Greg Thompson at 586-9417, or Zenon Szachowicz at 525-6518.
