The Prayer Team

The prayer team is a dedicated group of volunteers who accept the task of praying daily for the needs of others. People from the parish and people around the world submit prayer requests and the team prays daily for each person named. Prayers may be for healing or for thanksgiving or for what ever is on your heart.

What do they do?
Besides praying daily for everyone on the parish list, once a month at both the 8 and 10 am services on Sunday, the prayer team prays individually with people for themselves or for others. Laying hands on individuals and anointing them with oil.

Prayer shawls
These are available in the hallway to take to anyone in need. These simple strips of cloth represent the many prayers that are offered for each person and God’s great care for them. As each stitch is connected to another with no beginning and no end these shawls represent the prayers we are praying for people.  Just touching the garment will remind the person that someone is praying for them.  If you are interested in knitting prayer scarves, contact Dixie Gelinas. We have lots of yarn. Dixie is willing to teach you if you want to learn how to knit.
