COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING WORSHIP SERVICE
Dr. Ewing will be participating in the Community Thanksgiving Worship Service to be held this evening at the St. James Lutheran Church in Emsworth beginning at 6:30 PM. Communion will be served.
TWO CENTS A MEAL offering was a rousing success! Because of your commitment and generosity, we raised $509.92 for the North Boroughs Food Bank. Several of the children helped roll coins and the 4th and 5th graders will decide on what food to purchase. Thank you for contributing and enjoying the collecting process. It was a "joyful noise"!
CHRISTMAS CARDS
Christmas cards are needed to use for a gift-tag project at the December 6 Advent Festival. Old cards will be transformed into gift tags for donated gifts to local nursing home residents. Please drop cards in the marked bin located in the Rostrevor entrance hallway.
PURSES WITH A PURPOSE
Raising awareness and funds for HEARTH! Sunday, December 13, 1:00 –3:00 PM at the LeMont Restaurant. $20 per person / $150 for a table of 10. Ladies, hang out with your friends, enjoy brunch, and celebrate the holiday season while bidding on a silent auction filled with something for everyone. Purses will include items with themes such as wine, babies, candles, Steelers, jewelry or dogs. For tickets call 412-939-2302 ext. 14 or visit www.hearth-bp.org.
ANGEL TREE
Please take a tag from the Angel Tree in the Narthex supporting the Salvation Army and Holy Family Institute. Or make a check payable to CPCBA with a memo for the Heifer International Project. These are all wonderful opportunities to share with others during the holiday season. Call Jody Jackson for further information or questions, 412-364-8573. All gifts should be returned unwrapped with the angel tag attached no later than Sunday, December 6.
OUTREACH FOOD
November is CPCBA’s month to collect non-perishable food items for the North Boro’s Food Pantry. The North Boro’s pantry is located in Bellevue and serves the people in our own community. Some items that are especially needed are spaghetti sauce, cereal, and jelly. Paper items or personal care items such as toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, shampoo, soap and toothpaste are also appreciated.
ADVENT FESTIVAL
Join us for an Advent celebration on Sunday, December 6, 6:00-8:00 PM. Come and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa and cookies, see the live nativity with animals, and visit the activity tables. More information to come. If you would like to volunteer your time for set-up and clean-up, contact Beth Joyce 412-635-6151.
KNIT, CROCHET, PRAYER SHAWLS, ETC.
Come join us on Friday mornings at 9:30 at The Fire Escape on Church Avenue and bring along your handwork, whatever it is! We’ll chat, sip, snack and share patterns! Hope you can make it. See Jean Henderson for more information.
