Member Spotlights
at Community Presbyterian Church

Chuck Hamilton

When the road you travel seems all uphill, rest if you must, but don't you quit – words that Chuck Hamilton has embraced in his life. This month we turn the spotlight on Chuck, who was baptized and confirmed at Community Church and who returned as a member a year and a half ago. You may know him or his fraternal twin Nat Hamilton, a long time member of CPCBA. Chuck lives in Franklin Park with Nancy, his wife of 41 years. They have two sons who live out of the Pittsburgh area. David lives in Alexandria, Virginia, and Steven, lives in Eden Prairie, Minnesota with his wife Marilee.

An active member of the community, Chuck is currently a member of the Franklin Park Zoning Board and the Franklin Park Vacancy Board. He is treasurer of the Franklin Park Republican Committee, and was formerly involved with the Franklin Park Civil Service Commission, the Sanitary Authority and Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. In the past he has been a Sunday school teacher at Community Church, and has served as a deacon at Heritage United Presbyterian church on Rochester road. Here at CPCBA he considers his service on the Fellowship and Evangelism committee one of his favorite activities.

A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Chuck pursued a career in banking and is now retired. He enjoys reading (especially John Jakes and Tom Clancy) and traveling. A favorite destination is the beach at Nag’s Head, North Carolina. On tv he likes watching football and enjoys The West Wing and Bill O’Reilly.

Like many members of CPCBA, Chuck greatly enjoys Brent’s sermons and the choir. He considers them his favorite aspects of CPCBA. When asked about his favorite hymns and prayers he mentions How Great Thou Art and the 23rd Psalm, the Psalm of David.

Thanks Chuck, for sharing some details of your life. If you see Chuck, let him know you enjoyed reading about him. If you would like to volunteer yourself for a spotlight, please e-mail Marty or Susan Houser at houser@nb.net, or call them at 412-732-9599.

Thanks, Susan Houser
