COORDINATOR
Dave Wilson has 30 years experience with
USDA, Natural Resources Conservation Service. He has been the RC&D Coordinator
for the past 14 years. He graduated from University of Maryland with a BS in
Agriculture and has completed 15 credits toward a Masters Degree in Soils. He
served in the Peace Corps, Guinea, West Africa
teaching agricultural courses in French and served with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne in Vietnam. He has completed two grant writing and grant management seminars with Bader and Carr
Community Systems, Bozeman, Montana, and written a number of grants for government agencies and private organizations, as
well as taught an Introductory Grants Writing seminar.
NATURAL RESOURCE PLANNER
Audra E. Luscher graduated from California
State University at Long Beach
with a B.S. degree in Marine Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She entered the
graduate program in Marine Science at the University of North Carolina
at Wilmington in 1999 focusing on estuarine ecological and geological processes. She started working on coastal hazards and resource management related issues at the
North Carolina Division of Coastal Management in 2001. Audra joined ESRC&D
in January 2003 and works as a liaison between the State and Local Governments in developing shore erosion management strategies. The State is developing a Shore Erosion Response Assessment Tool that is trying to
strike a balance between the need to protect infrastructure with the need to maintain natural shoreline habitat.
NATURAL RESOURCES SPECIALIST
Jerry Walls was hired as the RC&D Natural
Resources Specialist in December 1987. He services the entire Eastern
Shore, Calvert County, and
Charles County on shore erosion control
projects for DNR 0% loan program. Jerry also worked for USDA Soil Conservation
Service for 31 years.
NATURAL SCIENCES MANAGER
Dr. Bhaskaran (Bass + Karen) Subramanian is from India. He
graduated in May 2006 with a Ph.D from University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Dr. Bhaskaran
earned his B.S. in Chemistry, M.S. in Environmental Chemistry (both from India)
and Ph.D. in Marine-Estuarine-Environmental Sciences, with special emphasis in Environmental Science. Dr. Bhaskaran has presented
in many conferences, seminars. He presented a paper in an International Conference (in India), has published a paper related to his research and is currently working
on publishing two more papers. Dr. Bhaskaran joined MD Eastern Shore RC&D Council,
Inc. in June and has since worked on assessing shoreline erosion control projects of RC&D in the past 20 years. He
has created a GIS database in association with Johann Martinez for RC&D.
SECRETARY
Nancy Basil is the staff secretary. She has 25 years experience in the secretarial field and 9 years experience in bookkeeping
and accounting. She has earned 12 credits in Business Administration from Chesapeake
College. Nancy
is currently the Asian/Pacific American Emphasis Program Manager and member of the Maryland Conservation Partnership Civil
Rights Advisory Committee.
