The Maryland Eastern Shore RC&D Council, Inc. is sponsored by the nine Soil Conservation Districts and nine County
Governments on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, each having a representative member. Five at-large members round out the
Council. All Council Members are volunteers and serve without compensation.
The mission of the Maryland Eastern Shore Resource Conservation and Development Council is to provide innovative leadership
to enhance resources through practical services to local communities that will improve the quality of life.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
I. Support the protecion and enhancement of the environment, encouraging orderly use of
land and water related resources for present and future needs.
II. Help preserve and strengthen agricultural and forestry base.
III. Maintain and improve fish and wildlife habitat on private and public areas, providing for the
protection of endangered and threatened species and habitat.
IV. Contribute to the protection, development, access and awareness of public water based
recreation and fish and wildlife resources.
V. Support the development of new and expansion of existing area industries.
VI. Contribute to improved transportation facilities in the Area.
