Announcements
- Prince of Peace will hold on Maundy Thursday, March 20 at 7:00 PM a Seder
dinner during Holy Week. Sign up sheets are in the Narthex if you have not
signed up for a meal item or to assist with set up and break down. The
meal will be held in the Sanctuary.
- Bell Choir rehearsal schedule changes. On Wednesday, March 19 there
will be no Nova Bell rehearsals, but there will be Boyles Memorial Ringers
rehearsal at 7:30 PM.
- Choir rehearsal schedule changes. On Wednesday, march 19 the Senior
choir will rehearse at 8:15 PM. There will be no Senior choir rehearsal on
Thursday, March 20. There is no Children's Choir rehearsal on Sunday,
March 23.
- Ushers are needed to help with the worship service. The job includes
lighting the candles, handing out bulletins, collecting the offering and
rearranging the sanctuary after worship. If you are interested, both men
or women, in helping, give the church office a call.
- On April 28, POPFiction will discuss The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara
Kingsolver at Jennifer Patrizio's house at 7:30 PM. THe book chronicles
the disintegration of a missionary family working in the Congo during the
country's fight for independence from Belgium.
- Sarah's House meal was a huge success. Prince of Peace will be
preparing a meatloaf dinner with all the trimmings at Sarah's House on Sunday,
March 30 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. In order to serve the population we need
5-6 homemade meat loaves in addition to canned green beans, boxes of instant
mashed potatoes, rolls, lemonade mix and dessert. A sign-up sheet will be
posted outside the church office. Anyone interested in serving this meal
is welcome. Thank you for continuous and generous support of this
important mission project
- The Lent Soup and Sermon series occurs every Wednesday at 6:15PM in
Fellowship Hall. Volunteers provide soup for the dinner portion of the
evening, followed by a time of spiritual reflection. Your help is needed.
A sign-up sheet is on the bulleting board in the hall outside the church
office. Pick your favorite soup and bring it to share. In addition,
help is needed to set up the tables and chairs for dinner. If you can
help, meet in Fellowship Hall at 5:30 PM on Wednesdays. Child care is
provided for those with small children. A small donation is optional to
help cover the costs of paper products. There is no other place one can go
and have a great meal and great conversation for $1.00.
- Books wanted for Book Sale - Our second annual book sale will be held
Saturday, April 27th. We are in need of books, games, puzzles, videos,
DVDs, CDs, computer games and any other electronic game equipment. Place
them under the table in the Education Wing. All proceeds from this sale
will benefit the Christian Education Ministry Area at our church.
- Helpers are needed to sort books. Please contact the church office.
- Mission and Outreach is collecting gently used children's and adult's coats.
Bring your coats to the church office for collection. They will be
delivered to
Sarah's House.
- Mission and Outreach is also collecting new or gently used sheets, towels
and pillowcases for the clothes closet at Nichols-Bethel United Methodist Church
of Odenton.
- A blog has been created at
http://croftonpoprelief.blogspot.com/ to allow us to create a live
online journal about our efforts to provide relief to the Gulf Coast
Region.
