A Happy Reunion!

Sandra (real name is Snookie!) spent several months here with us after being rescued from New Orleans. We found her owners by posting her information and picture on Petfinders. We are happy to report that yesterday, Snookie traveled safely and is now happy at home with her mom and dad in Atlanta, Georgia.

Katrina Relief Update

MHF plans to continue various Katrina relief efforts by sending donations and grant money to different organizations in the gulf coast region. Last week we arranged for a surgery table to be taken to a Veterinarian, Dr. Charles West of Pet Haven Animal Clinic in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. He had lost his entire clinic during the storm and is currently working out of a trailer. A special thanks to Middleburg Animal Hospital for donating their surgery table and to A Forever Home for delivering the table for us! MHF took in five more dogs from New Orleans. Watch our available animals for their pictures and info, they will be available next week! We are also happy to report that we approved and sent money to The Hancock Humane Society in Waveland, Mississippi to help with low cost spay/neuters, compassionate feral cat population control and emergency medical needs.
