Louise & her pups were seized on Christmas eve, 2008. (See blog posting from Jan. 15) We are vey
happy to report that we won our case in Culpeper County General District Court! Both defendants were found guilty of deprivation
of adequte care of a companion animal and were fined $100 each as well as court costs. MHF was awarded full custody of the
mother dog and her puppies with an agreement that there will be no appeal. MHF will not receive any restitution
for the costs of caring for and housing this group so we will not receive any of the $1500 in care costs but, we are thrilled
to have stopped this horrific cycle of suffering and give this group an opportunity at a healthy and happy life. The puppies
and mom are now available for adoption!
