Volunteering your time is one of the best ways to help animals.
Whether you walk the dogs at the shelter or donate a day to run the thrift shop or help with a fundraiser, you can make a
difference in the lives of abused and neglected animals. When you give the animals the gift of your time, you'll get back
as much as you give -- maybe even more! Please help us help them.

Thanks to all the folks who helped
us pull off our latest event, the Wingfield Garden Tour. Many volunteers spent a big part of their Mother's Day weekend
patrolling the garden, working the bake, book and t-shirt sales, helping set up and break down, contributing items for the
bake and drink sale, and selling tickets.

Kathy Durand started with MHF at the end of January of this year and has
been a blessing! On top of coming out every week to walk dogs, she's always willing to make a last minute vet run, train
a group of new volunteers, or spend two hours scrubbing out a smelly feral cat room! Her mom, Pat Wellford, is also
a volunteer here and comes with Kathy often and helps out.
One of the dogs from the Warren County puppy mill raid -- a very shy, behaviorally challenged
poodle named "Little Man" -- is a very lucky guy because Kathy is fostering him and working with him on his issues so that
he becomes a good canine citizen. As you can see from the picture, he's doing very well! Update:
She adopted him! We knew she would.
Thank you, Kathy, for all you do for the staff and animals at MHF!
